There will be no more quarterback controversy in Cleveland this season.

Browns quarterback Brady Quinn is done for the year after doctors revealed that the break to his right index finger has gotten worse since he's tried to play through the injury, sources told FOXSports.com.

Team sources said that Quinn and the team made the decision together earlier today. Sources say that not only has the break in his right index finger worsened, but it is also starting to injure the tendons as well.

Derek Anderson will return as starter. Quinn met with renowned doctor James Andrews and the Browns brought in specialists as well.

A team source said that all agreed that Quinn needed to shut it down before the tendons tore from the bone.

Minnesota still got that 'Quinn for 2 1st round picks' offer on the table?

Seems like Cleveland can never catch a break. This team is beyond repairs this season. Quite funny to see the changes from last season to this season. All the Browns fans in Cleveland aren't even bothering me like they did last season. LOL.

Once Bill Cowher signs a deal with the Browns to coach and GM next year, you'll get a few of us bothering you. :)

What makes you think Bill Cowher is coming to Cleveland? You got proof? I don't think so. Besides, I don't think he would want to piss the Steeler Nation off and deflect to a rival. If so, he will be a hanged man when he steps foot in Pittsburgh. I don't see this even happening. Keep dreaming.

I don't want to get into a Cowher debate but he did start his coaching career here in Cleveland.. He served many years under Marty S..

And on the Quinn subject... Now we're back to square one. If Derek Anderson performs well in these final games, we will have yet another QB competition in Training camp.. We need to make a decision this off-season on who the QB is, and try and get something for the other.

Yeah because Bill Cowher would say to hell with a good Coaching job and good money...because "Steeler Nation" wouldn't approve.

Get a grip dude. Plenty Coaches and Players have left long stints with one team & headed to their arch-rival.

Why? Because money talks, that's why, and in this case...so does good opportunity.

Dallas won't go after Cowher.. That much I do know. We don't really need him either. Even though he's a better coach than Phillips..

tough break for Quinn and the Browns. But I still think starting the year at QB is better than just stepping in mid-way.

As for Cowher, if he comes back it's to coach Cleveland. Don't give me the BS of "Steeler Nation will be Pissed". As a long-time Giants fan I can tell you that Parcells left us for the Cowboys, the team the Giants hate more than anything.

You made your point perfectly clear. I didn't think before I spoke. I was PWNED here. You can say you PWNED me. Yeah, that was a dirty move. Not only the switch from Giants to Cowboys, but how about Patriots to Jets or Vice Versa. My brain isn't cooperating this morning. HA HA.

Thanks for setting me straight.

haha, no problem. Just keep in mind many coaches make that choice. Only the few keep team's in their heart, Cowher might be one of the few, but I don't think so.

Im not gonna say I pwned you, lol. I got an extremely obsessed Steelers fan and I'm used to kickin his butt in the daily debate. As well as the annoying Yankee/Patriot fan in my school. I get into the usualy hourly debate each hour (lol, it never ends). Im so used to it...

I understand. I go through this with Baltimorons and the Cleveland fans all the time. It is good to own them. You got to have a strong backbone to tell them suckers off. I used to get it all the time from Cincinnati fans, but they've been mostly quiet this season. I wonder why? LOL.
