A person with knowledge of the situation said the Knicks have "a standing offer" with the Miami Heat that would involve sending Stephon Marbury for forward Shawn Marion.

The Heat have thus far declined the offer.
I believe the deal also sends Center Eddy Curry to the Heat.
Something along the lines of Marion and Blount for Marbury and Curry.

Maybe a pick or something but w/e.
It'll clean CAP for James.

i doubt the Heat want Curry or Marbury that bad to deal Marion..

plus, the Heat want DWade back, so why would they take on those salaries? doesn't make sense

Who knows... but I can see there thoughts on it.

PG - Stephon Marbury
SG - Dwayne Wade
SF - Michael Beasly
PF - Udonis Haslem
C - Eddy Curry

Steph's deal ends this year
Curry's ends in 11.

Marion is out of place in Miami. Beasley and Marion both play the same way on the offensive end and there really isnt any room for him.

They lack size in the post and it shows whenever they play a team with height, Marbury comes off the books after this year so that doesnt hurt them, it actually helps since Marion is expiring to. Curry in the big body they need.

It makes sense, but is obviously a steal for us, but given the Heat's position right nowm its not that bad a move.

Do it. Pat, make up for bolting the Knicks way back when for the Heat.... You owe us.

He sums it.
It also gives them a building block to help Wade at Guard and a legit Center.

Just so you guys can see what Miami is working with potentially:

PG - Stephon Marbury / Mario Chalmers / Chris Quinn / Shaun Livingston / Marcus Banks
SG - Dwayne Wade / Dorell Wright / Daequan Cook
SF - Michael Beasley / James Jones / Yakouba Diawara
PF - Udonis Haslem / Joel Anthony
C - Eddy Curry / Jamaal Magloire / ((Alonzo Mourning))

I believe a PG would be cut and they coudl make a run at McDyess to back Haslem or start.

Eddy Curry sucks. I don't know why the Heat would do this trade.

I understand it's early, but Marion is averaging 11 ppg, and 9 RPG. He has eclipsed 15 points just once this year... I wouldn't be too surprised if something like this happened.

The Heat will deal Marion, but it won't be this deal. NO TEAM wants Stephon Marbury. And if the Heat got him, Kraig, you and I both know he wouldn't be starting.

There have been a few teams interested in signing Marbury if/when he is waived.

He would most likley start, he's a better option then Chalmers, Quinn and Banks. He actually knows how to run the PG position.

And I can all but GUARENTEE Curry would start, trust me when I say they NEED a big man.
