This is a tough one. Any of them are a great candidate for MVP, but I chose Portis. He has 944 on 187 attempts and 7 tds. As long as he stays healthy, he can do some serious damage. He is on track for his best year of his career. He has had 5 straight 100-yard rushing games and is only 318 behind last years total(1262). I just have a good feeling about him.

Short & Sweet...I'll break this down player by player.

Jake Delhomme has been very cerebral this season, fired up, leading Carolina to some tough victories. Played great all season long & very reliable...but doesn't have the eye-popping statistics to warrant MVP.

Brandon Jacobs is a monster back...but isn't the only back the Giants employ. Tough to bring down...but not the primary reason the Giants are winning games. I wouldn't vote you the league MVP if you aren't even your team's MVP. Right now the Giants' MVP goes out to Justin Tuck for stepping up and filling a much needed void left in that pass rush.

Clinton Portis...again...vital player, not his teams' MVP. Jason Campbell is the Redskins first half MVP, hands-down.

Kurt Warner, meh, give me Boldin & Fitzgerald...I could put up the same kind of numbers.

My MVP for the first half of the season goes to Drew Brees. As mention before, not only has Brees put up some serious yardage through the air...but he has done it by throwing to some guys I have never even heard of. Even with a depleted WR corps & an injury riddled backfield...Brees is the only thing keeping the Saints' season alive.

I picked jacobs, but I use him as a substitute for Tuck. I honestly think he should be on that list, so Im just using Jacobs to get to tuck, lol.

I say its close betwen Portis and Brees, being that the redskins are in playoff contention and the Saints are at the bottom of their division, Im going with

Portis

I'd love to vote Jacobs, but Brees is easily the best candidate for this award.

Dude, with no run game (until week 10) he's done a great job. Also, remember, they came VERY close to giving the ball to Leinart this year.

Also realize that he was missing Boldin for 2 games, and was able to hit Steve breaston (who?(exactly)) for 100 yard games.
