Jerry Jones' pursuit of Roy Williams was almost as ardent as that of Adam Jones'. The Cowboys owner said he attempted to trade for Williams over the last two years but could not get the Lions to agree. The teams did not start talks in earnest about this deal until a few hours before the 3 p.m. deadline. With at least nine selections in next year's draft, the Cowboys felt comfortable in giving up their first-, third- and sixth-round picks in return for Williams and Detroit's seventh-rounder. The Cowboys and Williams have agreed to the parameters of a contract extension that will keep him in a Dallas uniform until 2013.

NO!!! Cowboys are gonna have one of the deadliest WR combos ever. I hope Roy Williams turns out to be a Herschel Walker type player. It's kind of strange using that comparison, because Herschel was traded from the Cowboys. But they traded a lot for Roy, so you can catch my drift.

Not surprised. I don't think Jerry Jones would have made this deal if he wasn't confident that he could work out an extension with Williams.

Considering what Jerry's had in the past...I think he feels as though he needs 2 top notch WR's.

Just look at some of the guys he has brought in since Irvin and Harper...Galloway, Keyshawn, Terry Glenn, etc.

Should have done if after the season was over, because you don't know how he will play and all.

He's from Odessa which isn't too far from Dallas. So he grew up in a town that's most likely crawling with Cowboy fans. But you could see by the way he played against the Cowboys, he wanted to be a "Boy".

He will follow suit and be strung out on coke and beating his wife by the time he's 37.
