Fannation
Vikings quarterback Gus Frerotte accused Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch of hitting him with a cheap shot in the fourth quarter of Tennessee's 30-17 win. Vanden Bosch hit Frerotte after the quarterback threw a third-and-goal pass from the Tennessee 6 that fell incomplete. Officials flagged Vanden Bosch for roughing the passer, which gave Minnesota first-and-goal from the 3. Frerottte stayed down for a few moments then briefly left the field. Vanden Bosch hit him with "a direct shot to the groin,'' the 37-year-old quarterback said. "That just isn't called for in this game. To take and just spear somebody like that,'' Frerotte said. "That's pretty ridiculous. I mean the guy plays hard and he goes all out, but he wants to do those kinds of things. ??? We just got a memo from (NFL Commissioner Roger) Goodell this week, saying we're going to cut all that stuff out and we're going to keep our game legitimate. Those kinds of things aren't legitimate.''
