Howard Beck of the New York Times reports that the Knicks are expected to part ways with Stephon Marbury.

"Most of the Knicks' top rotation players from last season have been scrimmaging at the team's training center," writes Beck. "The group has included Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, David Lee, Nate Robinson, Jared Jeffries, Wilson Chandler and Zach Randolph, as well as the free-agent pickup Chris Duhon. The most notable absence has been Stephon Marbury, who is expected to be waived before the season."
If this happens maybe Miami could go after him?

I wonder if that whole Detroit thing could re-spark, I doubt it though. He could get some time as PG, Stuckey at SG.

Probably the best for both him and the Knicks.

I wouldn't mind that at all, I also think Lakers should go after him.. I won a championship in a sim league with the normal Lakers team but I signed Steph after he got cut lol

Maybe Celtics are going after him. Even though they have Cassell, with Pierce, KG and Ray-Ray on his side, that'll help him get himself going

I'm not sure we need Marbury. Plus, imagine what it'd do to our chemistry. Too much of a risk.

I think this is a mistake.

Regardless of what people say about Marbury, he still has the ability to be one of the leagues top PG's. Its obvious he isnt the best teammate, but what we Knicks fans care about is wins. And we havent seen enough of them the last 6 years.

I have a feeling once he's waived he's going to ressurect his career as long as he's given a shot.

Hold on fellas....

Stephon Marbury’s tenure with the New York Knicks might not be over just yet.

After Newsday reported earlier in the day that Marbury’s disappointing stint with the Knicks could end as early as this week, ESPN.com on Tuesday night cited team president Donnie Walsh, who claimed the point guard will be with the team when it starts workouts next week.

“He’s coming to training camp,” Walsh told the web site.

This is a much better move, my guess is Walsh is still exploring trade possibilities and/or wants to wait to see how well Marbury performs unders the new system and how the rest of the team feels about him. Hopefully Marbury comes in and gives it 100% and changes some minds of is teammates.

I applaud you Mr. Walsh..

They don't need to trade everyone..
Hell I'd say keep Nate David Jamal Eddy(if he trys harder) Galio and call me crazy.. Marbs.
If he plays how he could he could be a top 10 pg. BUT he needs a better team around him, and that won't happen.

I'd keep Lee, Nate, and Crawford... That's it.

Maybe Marbury will play hard for D'Antoni, but I doubt it....

I thinks it's just the team. If he was on a team like LA Miami or any team like that he'd excel for sure.

I'd like to see him try to bring a team like them down... Kobe or Dwyane would punch him square in the jaw, haha.

I thought he said he was going to go play overseas after his contract was up?
