Which is more screwed?

A question stolen from ESPN...but yet asked with a different twist. I just want to know what SI thinks about both injured stars & which of their teams would be hurting more without them.

I seen that question a few days ago on ESPN as well. It made me think.

It would be the Patriots. Seeing as they have no backups whose names I can remember.
The Colts got Sorgi and Gray as backups. Who are both descent and better than what the Pats have.

Plus I think the whole Randy Moss re-born thing was all Brady, he would go back to the average Moss as soon as Brady goes down.

Both have crappy back ups for QB... We've seen Matt Cassell play in pre-season, and he's awful and his first pass against the Dolphins was an INT. I watched the entire Colts vs Titans game last season when the Browns playoff hope was on the line and Jim Sorgi was starting so Peyton would stay healthy, horrible game by him. Both are equally as screwed IMO.

Jim Sorgi is a bum. Matt Cassell wasn't bad in college.

OK first of all, the whole Brady thing is bull<Censored>. He's gonna be fine.

But if it were to happen, I'd say NE without Brady. Indy just seems like their offensive system makes it a little easier for a different quarterback to step in and try to manage it. But both would be bad for either team.

Allow me to Campaign for a minute...

The way I look at is this, if either Brady or Manning went down, suddenly both teams are utilizing the ground attack more. With that being said, I view Joe Addai as being a much better everydown back than Laurance Maroney. Yes, the Patriots have Randy Moss, I know, but trust me when I say that Matt Cassell and Jim Sorgi won't be throwing way downfield until they are comfortable. With that being the case, the passing game underneath the secondary would be huge. Again, Indianapolis' personnel for that situation is better than the Patriots.

Those of you that saw any of Matt Cassell take the field during a Patriots' blow-out in 2007...saw a guy that really isn't a starting NFL quarterback. Jim Sorgi may not be that much better of an NFL starting quarterback but I do see Sorgi as having the better physical ability and I see Peyton Manning as being the better teacher.

That's right...while Brady is running around with his European super models, Manning and Sorgi are in the film room dissecting the Pats' defense.

Colts have Quinn Gray, who ain't that bad. He has shown he is alright.

Cassell never played. He backed up Leinart and Palmer.

But I believe that the Pats system goes through Brady more then the Colts go through Manning. Basically I think it breaks down to who has the better rushing attack, and I believe Addai and the Colts do a better job at that.
