With interest increasing over 7-foot-2 Iranian Hamed Ehadadi, the NBA league office has issued a firm order to all 30 of it's teams: "Don't even think about it."

The NBA sent a letter to it's teams Friday, informing them that any negotiations with Ehadadi would violate a Federal statute that bans any person or organization from the United States from engaging in business with an Iranian foreign national.

Interest for Ehadadi began to pick up after the Iranian National squad competed in July's NBA Summer League, at the invitation of David Stern.

Ehadadi continues to turn heads during the Summer Olympic Games. His most recent performance, 21 points and 16 rebounds, in a loss to Argentina on Saturday.

Ehadadi acknowledges that it has always been his dream to play in the NBA and when asked, said he had already spoken with two or three NBA teams...most notably the Memphis Grizzlies.

Though Ehadadi is a massive presence on the hardwood, many NBA scout believe that he would be a "project-player", should he find himself in the league. Ehadadi was unselected in the 2004 NBA draft and has had the ability to sign with any team since. He has spent time with several clubs in the Iranian professional league.

The NBA is applying to the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control for a license that, “if granted,” the league said, would allow teams to negotiate with the 23-year-old Ehadadi. -AE

I've never heard of this guy but thats no reason why he shouldn't get a chance to go to the NBA. I'd like to see him play for the Grizzlies actually.

Oh stop feeling sorry for this guy.

In the NBA he's no more than a shot blocker....and that's assuming there's enough NBA players out there dumb enough to shoot with him in front of them.
