Okay, time to start busting out those Madden 09 Pennington covers...

Less than 48 hours after he was released by the Jets in favor of Favre, Chad Pennington has signed a 2-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. The deal not only keeps Pennington in the same division as his former squad, but also re-unites him with Bill Parcells, the man that drafted him out of Marshall back in 2000.

Pennington is widely known as one of the hardest working quarterbacks in the league and is expected to win the Dolphins' starting job. The Dolphins signing of Pennington adds him to a depth chart of quarterbacks that already includes: Josh McCown, Chad Henne, and John Beck.

At this point I have to believe that Beck becomes the odd man out. Though Beck hasn't had much of an opportunity, he looked horrible on the field in 2007 and keep in mind that he was the guy that was drafted by the old regime in Miami. -AE

I dont like Beck...another Chris Weinke if you ask me. 26-years old when he was drafted, good arm, good mechanics, just doesn't seem to have the ability to stomach an NFL defense & get comfortable in the pocket.

Looked way too flustered last season, when he did play, and lacks authority on his passes. I knew his days were numbered when Parcells came into the fold.

I think Pennington will deff start for the Dolphins. He's a very solid quarterback who has been unlucky with all of his injuries.

I agree. I think Pennington does still performs above average for a guy who has had 2 shoulder surgeries. Very cerebral guy, has been underrated since he became the Jets' starter.

I was hoping the Vikings would have made a push to sign him as he would of been a perfect fit for us. Not only do we employ a west coast offense, but his arm strength is good enough for a team that plays indoors.
