The Memphis Grizzlies have signed restricted Atlanta free agent Josh Smith to a $58 million offer sheet, the Memphis Commercial-Appeal is reporting.

The Hawks now have seven days to match or let Smith walk, but have said in the past they'll match any offer the high flyer may get from rival teams.

Should the Griz land Smith he is expected to play power forward alongside Rudy Gay at small forward, O.J. Mayo at shooting guard and Mike Conley at point guard.

But the bad thing is, Hawks will prolly match this. He should just sign one year deal from the Hawks or whatever there offer is for this season, take that then walk next season.

This deal will be matched. You can't loose both Joshes.

Why, did he say he wanted out of Atlanta before or something?

The Hawks are definitely gonna match this, the Hawks could easily be a playoff team again next year with him

the Grizzlies aren't going to get Smith like this for free

the only way they can get Smith would be sign and trade which wouldnt probably happen

Yea, he don't wanna be there at all.
what the heck are you talking about he said he didn't really like Mike Woodson. He declined the offer we gave him in October because he wanted more cash and why would he not wanna be here at all? seriously Atlanta is his hometown.

I wouldnt be surprised if Josh Smith isnt a Hawk next year.

The Hawks are prob looking at the 010 FA when LBJ and other stars are FAs...

If I felt like looking for a interveiw with Josh, he told someone he didn't want to be there. The management and him DO NOT get along, bot just him and the coach. I know it's his hometown, but he doesn't want to be there long term, he wanted to leave not just due to the money but because he got mad that they undervalued him by offering such a low amount then they kinda told him he wasn't worth what he wanted.
