Agent: Grizzlies forward Brown agrees to two-year deal with Pistons

Kwame Brown
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3511 is headed back to the Eastern Conference.

Brown's agent, Mark Bartlestein, told ESPN.com on Monday night that the former No. 1 pick in the 2001 draft has reached a verbal agreement on a new contract with the Detroit Pistons.

The contract is believed to be a two-year deal worth $8 million, with Brown -- who spent his first four seasons as a pro in Washington after being drafted by then-Wizards president Michael Jordan -- holding a player option to return to free agency after this season.

Brown earned nearly $9.1 million last season in the final year of his previous three-year deal, which the 26-year-old received in the summer of 2005 in a sign-and-trade from Washington to the Los Angeles Lakers. Brown's expiring salary was the chief chip that the Lakers used to convince the Memphis Grizzlies to send Pau Gasol to L.A. on Feb. 1 in a trade that earned the Grizzlies widespread criticism.

Brown played in only 15 games with the Grizzlies after the trade, averaging just 3.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in under 14 minutes per game.

I dont think this is the move many Pistons fans were expecting, but we'll see how it works out. Brown has been a bust and now he gets another chance with another team.

Yeah he's still young, still has time. He's shown glimpses of improvement. Maybe Detroit will work out for him.

I was telling Sheed the other day, why aren't the Pistons going to try to get him. DUMARS READ MY MIND!

He could become the starter here, let Sheed go back to PF, Dyess to the bench. Bout time Joey.

I feel a trade soon too

Damn, didn't see this coming. But I like Kwame, and as you all said he still has time to turn around, and maybe Detroit can help him do that. Finally got a tall guy next to Sheed. Hopefully Kwame will start and let Sheed slip back into his PF spot.

Detroit is known for making players shine, Rip, Chauncey, Ben, I don't see why Kwame can't.

did you seriously just say that? LMAO
well he's a decent defender. but when he gets in foul trouble or something, he gets REALLY discouraged
you better hope the Pistons fans dont boo him
and you better hope he gets some PT. if he doesnt play for a while, when he gets in there he looks really lost.
and i'm sure you know he has 0 offensive game.
get ready for some easy easy missed layups that couldve been easy dunks, and missed ft's to go on top of it

People are saying that:

Tayshaun/Maxiell/Herrmann(SAT) for Smith(SAT) and Claxton

Is looking very possible now and could happen within the next few days.

As much as I'd miss Maxiell, Amir would finally show you guys how good he is.

Well that's where Sheed's mouth comes in play lmao.

Also Dumars usually doesn't sign people who wouldn't benefit for us and fit in well with the team. Minus Nazr.
