This can't help but make one wonder who exactly the teams are that Sekou Smith was referring to. Could the LA Lakers be the "Western Conference powerhouse" poised to make a play for Smith?

Well, the Lakers could offer Lamar Odom to the Hawks and take back Smith and point guard Speedy Claxton, provided the deal Smith signs with Atlanta before being traded is enough to match salaries given his BYC status. The move would give the Lakers the defensive presence it lacked in the Finals against the Boston Celtics, and it would also provide the Hawks with a good player and an expiring contract in Odom valued at over $14 million.

I dont understand why Josh doesnt want to be in Atlanta, its his home state, they have a great future with him, JJ, and Horford.

But I really wonder why the Mavs would rather Artest over him, and if I were the Hawks I would jump at the chance to get Howard in exchange. Tay + Amir is nice, but I rather JH5 over them.

Thats cuz you want him lol. We offer the best, Tay and Amir PLUS picks. We also are willing to take Speedy.
Amir and Al could be one of the best shotblocking duos in a couple years. Tay gives them more expiernce. And it lets Marvin get more PT and could even have Al go back to his natrual postion PF.
They'd also have a decent bench, with weakspots at C and there already weak there so..

Detroit hasn't even offered anything yet and wasn't the eastern conference team.

Amir has little to no value in any trade...

Prince for Josh is a stupid trade. Even if it's "plus picks". Any 1st rounder would be a future protected one... So really, Prince for Josh? Come on... Prince scores less than Josh, rebounds less, blocks MUCH less...

If the Hawks deal him, it won't be for Prince. Prince wouldn't fit in with them.

If the Hawks deal him, maybe for Artest and one of their excess big men? I don't see JH5 leaving really.

Yeah, but Prince is on All-Star team. He plays behind Rip, Sheed, and Billups.

No he isn't

Sheed is no good
Billups is declining
Rip is the only true scorer there

Pistons are interested but they weren't the ones who made the deal. Like Grandy said.

How can you even be interested if you haven't tried to make a move lol.
