Keyon Dooling is close to becoming a Net.

League sources said the Nets and Magic are close to agreeing on a sign-and-trade for the point guard Lawrence Frank pursued three years ago.

The Nets would send their $3.3 million trade exception to the Magic in exchange for Dooling, who then would sign a three-year deal for between $10 million and $11 million.

It could be agreed upon as early as tonight, but probably won't be finalized until next week. This move would give the Nets 16 players and almost certainly would spell the end of Marcus Williams' career with the team.

The Nets have been looking to move Williams the past two summers. Once they secure the veteran guard Dooling, there would be little need for Williams.
Im liking this Nets team more and more

How has Williams been doing? I was sure he was going to be a great player, due to him studying under Kidd.

I guess not

But Dooling is a good player, a good scorer off the bench, good signing... but I would still rather Williams.

Williams is good but although hes been studying kidd, he and kidd aren't the same player, and now its looking like the Nets could look for a Marcus Williams and Krstic for One better player deal

Williams needs lots of work. Below average defender, only advantage he has over Harris is a jumpshot.

I enjoy what Kiki is doing for this organization. He is actually a top 5 GM in my opinion.

The more I watch this team get put together the less time I think its going to take before they will contend, Brook Lopez has complete athletic talent, it is a luxury that not every team has to have a big man to go straight to and know points are going to come... and just watch, Marcus Williams and Nenad Krstic is a nice trade package, a nice player should come back

The Nets are not going to compete this season, they should get into the playoffs, but nothing better then the 6th seed. Too young and lacking talent, all they have is VC and Harris.

LOL You don't know the team if you say all they have is VC and Harris cuz VC isn't doing anything, CDR is gonna be great, Ryan Anderson will surprise, Brook Lopez is amazing, youth means nothing, they are good players, it doesn't matter what year they're in

Since when did 3 rookies lead a team anywhere? Ryan Anderson and CDR won't even start for you guys. Lopez is a good talent and so are Anderson and CDR, but they're not going to help you guys compete this season. You're overvaluing them.

I agree, I dont think Anderson's game will translate into the NBA like it did in college. As for CDR its iffy, his game is almost identical to Paul Pierce's, both are horrible ball handlers, and seem to score off "wierd looking" shots. The difference is Pierce's basketball IQ. If CDR can get to where Pierce is IQ wise, he has the potential to become a star... other then that he isnt going to make an impact this year..

Brook Lopez is amazing? He's already an elite big man? Why didn't I get the memo?

Brook Lopez will be the best rookie big man this year not named Greg Oden.
