Warriors make offer to Brand after losing Davis

It has been known that the Golden State Warriors, reacting to the surprise opt-out of point guard Baron Davis and the even bigger surprise signing by the Los Angeles Clippers, have tried to replace him with another point guard, Washington Wizards free agent Gilbert Arenas. But, despite Arenas' frequently professed love for the Bay Area, multiple sources say it's likely that Arenas will head back to the Wizards with a near-max contract in hand.

Now Golden State is hoping to return the favor.

Flush with cap space after Davis' sudden exit, the Warriors have offered free agent Elton Brand a five-year deal worth between $85 and $90 million, according to league sources.

I highly doubt Maggette will return if Brand comes back. They would have no money...

My friend who has ESPN Insider said Maggette is most likely going to Celtics or Spurs.

The most the Clippers can offer Brand is a five-year deal worth about $70 million due to salary-cap restrictions - about $20 million less than the Warriors.

Looks like hes coming to the warriors if he wants more money. Unless he wants to stay in LAC now that baron is there for 20 mil less (a <Censored> load of difference in money)

I don't like Brand but I want this so Baron gets a slap in the face.

Brand isnt going to sign with the Warriors.

Especially since Baron is in LAC, it just makes no sense for him to leave... unless he's about the money, which I doubt b/c he's taking a pay cut to play with Davis.

O RLY? if thats the case he would take the Warriors offer in which he gets paid more than $25 MILLION more than he would with the Clippers.

Sources say his house has been up for sale for 26 days now and hes in another city right now (IDK where).
