It's a different story though. Back when the draft happened did we know Carmelo was going to be the stud he is now?

Dumars was commited to Tayshaun then, that's why he didn't take Melo.

Well I knew he would be a bigger stud than Darko...

Well we kinda did know Melo was gonna be a stud. Remember, him and Lebron was supposed to be the new Bird-Magic rivalry.

Well you never really KNOW how someone is gonna do in the NBA, you just gotta do as much research as you can and hope you pick the right guy, lol. And obviously, Dumars didn't.

True, but he did with Amir, Stuckey, Maxiell. Etc..

The Pistons don't get lottery picks either, most picks they get are late 20's. So Dumars does a HELL of a job with those picks.

No duh, he made a mistake there obviously.

But Darko had impressive stats in Europe. I'm sure he's not the only one who under those circumstances would of taken Darko.

eh...we still don't know yet with those guys. Stuckey seems to be there, but Maxiell is on and off, and Amir...I still don't think he's really proven anything.

I agree that Amir Johnson has a good future ahead of him though. I think over time he'll be a solid Forward or Center.

All I can say is just wait. They will all 3 turn out to be great players.
