Lions trade DT Shaun Rogers to Browns for CB Bodden, 3rd-rounder

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP)—The Detroit Lions traded Shaun Rogers to the Cleveland Browns for cornerback Leigh Bodden and a third-round pick in the April draft.

The deal was announced Saturday by the Lions, a day after a trade with Cincinnati fell through that would have shipped the talented but inconsistent defensive tackle to the Bengals in exchange for third- and fifth-round picks.

Man, are they ever making some good moves this off-season.

Sure their secondary takes a hit with trading Leigh Bodden, but they pick up a huge Defensive-Lineman in Shaun Rogers.

Lions got the better deal of the deal. Bodden is young and a good CB. Plus we get a 3rd rounder in which we can address OL,DL,LB, or RB. Best deal I think we could get out of it.

i agree, i think i am the only Browns fan here, i love Bodden, but ohwell.. maybe Crennel can get through to Rogers, if he can, imagine the possibilities..

Rogers and Williams (from the packers) in the middle. Braylon and Stallworth at WR, with Winslow.. Browns would seem to be actually trying for the first time since they have been back in the NFL

Sorry to bump and old topic but I am just looking at this and Cal's Finest said we will fight for 2nd place? We had 2nd place won this year, and nearly won first place, if not for a couple of horrible calls in some key games we would have made the playoffs.

We will easily make a run for the AFC North crown.

Also to the Browns fan who thinks we lost the deal, are you insane? Bodden was HORRIBLE this year, he did absolutley nothing this past season and was part of the reason our defense was so horrid. Rogers brings a much needed defensive linemen to the team, add Corey Williams to that with Shaun Smith, we are gonna have a much better defense.

i am going to guess you meant me

don't mistake someone liking a player, with them saying that player is good

also, i am pretty sure i didn't say anywhere we lost the deal..

The person above you said the Lions got the better deal, and you said you agree, I'm just going to take a wild guess and say that meant you thought that the Lions won and we lost.

I mis-read on the Bodden part, for that I apologize.

hmm i guess i kind of did lol

i don't know why i typed that, probably because Rogers is lazy as hell, and can't even stay on the field for 3rd down, he hasn't shown that he cares about being a part of a team.

Bodden wasn't that bad anyway

He's a Steelers fan, so he thinks the Steelers have it locked up. He's just being bias.

Rogers put on a little too much weight in past years, but I heard he has already worked on losing weight and is down like 30 pounds. A good team I think will give him a reborn fuel to play. Who wants to play on the Lions?

yeah he dropped weight over the years too, but always gets it back

if he didn't want to play there, he shouldn't have stayed
