From realgm.com
Carmelo Anthony's agent, Calvin Andrews, doesn't believe that the All-Star forward will be traded to the Pistons this offseason, according to MyFox Colorado.

“I would say nothing is happening. The Nuggets are not trading Carmelo,” said Andrews in an interview.

The Denver Post recently reported that Detroit might be interested in Anthony as Joe Dumars looks to shake things up in Michigan.

“People are interested in Carmelo. People are smelling blood. There are a lot of rumors out there and a lot of talk is happening, so people feel like they got to get there bid in there too," Andrews added.

What is the agent suppose to say?

"Carmelo, I think will be traded this off-season."

Thats why you don't get excited about rumors.

I don't think there is zero chance of it happening.

Pistons obviously want a Melo caliber player. Who else is there? We aren't going to settle for less.

No Rip, but I really wanna see us do something. If we can get 1 maybe 2 superstars and have a borderline playoff team for the next year or 2 that means in 3 or 4 years we'd be back on top... But I know Dumars don't want us as a losing team.

Melo's agent doesnt have the power to stop a trade if the Nuggets want it, of course he's gonna say he's staying.

Eh..I don't think so. If it was clear that both sides wanted this to happen, his agent would be singing a different tune.

That still has nothing to do with what the Nuggets are thinking about doing. NBA teams arent as close as many believe, their not gonna keep him caught up on everything their considering.

Im sure he does, but no team is gonna say "Yeah, we're thinking about moving your client, but we're not too sure yet." Their gonna tell him what he wanna hears in order to keep Melo happy, just in case they decide to keep him

Actually they would. They would tell him if his client is being shopped, or talked about...or even just asked about. I bet that type of stuff is probably in their contract. Let the player know whats happening. (Which his agent said nothing is)

dez is right DJT, he isn't going to tell the media on how Carmelo is going to be traded...

Doesn't want to pull a Kobe Bryant or anything.

He would if its gonna happen. Like 90% sure.

And nobody wants to pull a Kobe Bryant.

Exactly, so someone probably asked him if Melo is going to be traded. He's not going to say yes, he most likely will.

I know if I was an agent I wouldn't.

...unless he is. But since he's not, his agent would say no....and he did.

Me neither. I'm just saying a agent would tell the media that his client is going to be traded, if he really was....thats all I'm trying to say.

As for the topic, I don't see Melo being traded.
