If somehow Cleveland can get him, they would be amazing. I mean they get the player Lebron's always wanted, a sidekick. You have two of the best players in the NBA on the same team. If I'm the Cavs I'm looking to trying to get something along the lines of this done.

Arenas opts out of final year of deal to test free agency

Updated: June 9, 2008, 11:24 PM ET

WASHINGTON -- Gilbert Arenas lived up to his word and opted out of the final year of his contract, the Washington Wizards said Monday.

The move had been long expected. Arenas has repeatedly said he would forgo the final year of his six-year, $65 million deal so that he could re-sign with the team for an even larger amount.

Arenas can begin negotiating with any team on July 1. While he has expressed a desire to remain with the Wizards, he has also said he won't return unless the team also re-signs Antawn Jamison, who is also set to become a free agent.

Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld has said he wants to re-sign both Arenas and Jamison.

Arenas, a three-time All-Star, missed most of last season after two operations on his left knee. He has averaged 22.8 points, 5.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds in his seven-season NBA career.

The Cavs can just keep dreaming...

Redd, O'Neal, and Arenas? Yeah right.

Well I think they'll be pressured to go get one. I mean look what hte Celtics did last year when they were banking on either getting Durant and Oden, got #5. People wanted Ainge fired, and they go out and get 2 superstars. This case, if the CAvs don't improve, they lose the future best player of the game if he isn't already, because he is already begging for help.

The Cavs look like a plausible place for Gilbert to thrive again. He would be LeBron's shoulder to grow on and hit those BIG SHOTS he can't. Plus he can average nine assists a game and play with a big guy like Ben Wallace and LeBron. Things would thrive in Cleveland.

I don't get how the Cavs could get him..They have no money and no pieces to the team that would interest anyone in a sign and trade...
