Kevin Durant of the Seattle SuperSonics and Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks headline a talented group of rookies named to the 2007-08 T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie Team, the NBA announced today. Horford, the only player unanimously voted to the 2007-08 T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie Team, finished with 58. Durant, winner of the 2007-08 T-Mobile Rookie of the Year award, received a total of 57 votes.

Rounding out the T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie First Team are Houston’s Luis Scola (53 points), the Los Angeles Clippers ’ Al Thornton (48 points) and Seattle’s Jeff Green (43 points).

The T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie Second Team consists of former D-League player, Jamario Moon of the Toronto Raptors (38), Memphis’ Juan Carlos Navarro (24), Philadelphia’s Thaddeus Young (23), Detroit’s Rodney Stuckey (22) and Houston’s Carl Landry (18).

Horfors (pretty much) a double-double and the Sonics without Durant prolly could have still won that many games but the Hawks without Horford would have been WAY worse

Team 1 is full of Forwards, but understandably so. There weren't many good Guard rookies. As for Durant not being unanimous and Horford being it, very weird. Durant was one vote off of being unanimous, so it must be someone Atlanta guy that just doesn't like him because IMO he was the obvious ROY.

I agree with Stunna, Horford should have been rookie of the year.

Durant didnt have an impressive season at all IMO, I knew going into the season he would average at least 20 but he was their number one option. So that isnt a surprise he scored 20 a game.

Plus the Hawks made the playoffs and gave the Celtics a run for their money.

So he shouldn't of got the Rookie of the Year award because he had higher expections then others? He still did better then Horford on a team where he was the main defensive focus, and Horford was a 3 mabey 4th option on the team.

Also if you think that the Hawks making the playoffs is because of Horford your crazy. Like I said he isn't close to being there top guy, he has a few people ahead of him. Also making the playoffs with a losing record isn't that impressive.

Durant is one dimensional, he is a scorer, nothing more. While Horford adds rebounding and defense. That is why I believe he should have won ROY. His team did better, and though his scoring average was lower he did so much more for his team.

And your right making the playoffs w/ a losing record isnt impressive at all, but pushing the leagues best team record wise to 7 games in the first round (not to mention EVERYONE expected you to be 4 and done) is.

That's basically dismissing what he did because of expectations. Him being the number one option makes it harder for him to score because he fights through double teams every game.

Also he is one dimensional because the Sonics put him in a position to be one dimensional. He is a good rebounder, and he proved that while at Texas, but once he came into the NBA the Sonics decided to move him down.

I would take Durant's 20.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG over Horford's 10.1 PPG, 9.6 RPG anyday.

Horford stats would have been even better if he played Power Forward instead of playing out of position against centers.
