Elton Brand to return as early as Thursday

Clippers forward Elton Brand is slated to make his season debut shortly, with a possible date being Thursday's visit to Sacramento against the Kings, the team said today.

Brand has missed the season while recovering from a ruptured left Achilles tendon he sustained in an off-season workout in August.

The Clippers have sorely missed his inside game this season, stumbling to a 22-51 record.

If he returned Thursday, Brand, who can opt out of his contract at season's end, would play in seven games before season's end.

His home debut would come Sunday against the Houston Rockets.

HUZZAHH.. EB is coming back, hopefully. Not might be big news, but still the Clippers thread hasn't made any noise.

I hope not.. then there would be no reason to like the Clippers anymore lol. Maggs and EB both can opt out, so if they do all we have is Kaman.

If I were Brand I would leave, cause even with the team there probably is still no chance at playoffs seeing as the West is so stacked.

Yes, this is very good news. He can show case his skills before he becomes a Free Agent and comes here to Miami (Riley wanted him back in 2003 and he's said he wants to be with the Heat, all we need is either a sign-and-trade, or for Marion to opt-out with a guarantee we will re-sign him with his bird rights)!

We have about $15M-$16M coming off the books between Ricky and JWill alone, plus if Marion does opt out, then yes, we could sign him to a deal then re-sign Marion. Strong possibility, or there's always the possibility of a sign-and-trade. But all hope...for now...

Paul Davis was doing good before he got hurt. And it'll be good to see Brand back and playing. Always liked him.

Who cares what he wants, it's what Riley wants, and he doesn't want a ballhog. If he accepts the minimum, then welcome! But, other than that, he can go somewhere else and ballhog.
