I used playmaker7's technique for fixing up Malkin's hair here... Otherwise I think this cut was pretty good looking.

Usually though I'll add a new layer, zoom in, and add hair like pencil tool to the hair and then blur it to make it look better.

Stupid TinyPic shrunk it from 2400x3400 pixels to 1100x1600 pixels.

Yes it is. I've done so many hockey cuts, about 90%+ in the gallery are mine. If you're gonna do hockey cuts you should really check the gallery . Glad to see others who do hockey though.

LOL. If I fix the bit on the bottom of his hand and the right sleeve, does this rule come into effect?

this cut is larger, so we need to swap out the links in the gallery --- sorry bballa, but bigger is better....

Since yours is 450x600 and mine is 1150x1600?

Yep. Always.

Might wanna do more to the hair, like add curls to them, to give it a more natural effect.

Thanks for the tips! People on the "Cut Crew" are really helpful when judging cuts! I'll try fixing it up and if not possible I'll just scrap this and do another one.

no prob- there's several different methods for hair to try -

there's the pencil blur, which PM7 described.
there's the clone tool, at lower opacity
but the pencil blur is probably the best.. it sometimes takes me 4-5 layers at different blurs to get right -- i also try using different shades of the hair color to add depth
