The Detroit Free Press - For the second-straight season Jon Kitna claims that the Lions can win ten games in the upcoming season, according to the Detroit Free Press.

"Last year was not a prediction,\; it was a statement of fact that if we didn't win 10 games, we would be disappointed, and I would say that would still hold true this year," Kitna said. "We will be disappointed, but we're going to be a better football team."

He thinks that Tatum Bell can help take the team to the next level this season.

"I'm excited about Tatum Bell. I love Tatum Bell. I think he's going to be great in this system," Kitna said. "He's obviously been a 1,000-yard rusher in this league."

Well everyone thought he was crazy when he said it last season. And at first it looked like Kitna was right when he said it..So I'm going to trust what he says this year.

Kitna is a failure, plain and simple.

Exactly, if we would of closed out the end of the season the Giants wouldn't win the Super Bowl because we would of made the playoffs.

But you finished 1-7...

And in your 6-2 spurt, only two teams you played made the playoffs. And if you closed out the season strong, the Giants still would have made the playoffs because only one team in the league was better than us on the road. And no team was more efficient in the playoffs than we were.

Yes, but if we finish strong we would of won 12 games easy.

You played more good teams in the second half.

Green Bay twice, Dallas, NY Giants, and San Diego. That's five losses right off the bat. The Lions only had more rushing yards in five games out of sixteen. That's not how you win in the NFL. Especially with a line that was terrible at pass-protection. Hence why the Chargers and Eagles both eclipsed 50 points on them while only allowing about 17 points. The teams with good front 7's will have a field day against the Lions. The Lions were the only team in the NFL that gave up over 50 points to teams not named the New England Patriots.

Yes but we almost beat Dallas, and NY. We just didn't close out.

We have a tough schedule this season, but we might be able to do it. We have a much easier system with Martz gone. Bell ran for over 1000 yards back in Denver a couple seasons ago and he split time with Mike Bell too. O-Line will do better, because of the easier offensive scheme and more running plays. Improve our secondary a ton(our down fall from last season). Have the 15 pick in which we could improve O-Line or D-Line or LB.

Last I checked you lost both games. And that's all that matters at the end of the day. The Lions can be good this year, but it'll take a good stroke of luck and better coaching for that to happen.

I know we did lose, no doubt about that. But we could of won but didn't finish.

The Giants could have beaten NE twice this year. They just didn't finish out that first game. But they made up for it by not hanging their heads and they realized that they could win the superbowl. And guess what? They did.
