FOXSports.com has learned that the Steelers and Roethlisberger agreed today on a multiyear contact extension one day after the quarterback's 26th birthday.

The eight-year deal totals $102 million with roughly $36 million guaranteed, a source said.

An official announcement is expected this afternoon.

Roethlisberger's lucrative deal places him among the NFL's highest-paid quarterbacks.

Why isnt he worth this much? He's taken them to the playoffs all but 1 year, won a super bowl, and made his 1st pro bowl in a QB stacked AFC.
