Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said before Wednesday's game that the club will weigh its options moving forward to fill a roster spot with a big man to replace backup center DeSagana Diop, who was part of the trade to acquire Jason Kidd.

The more likely scenario is that the Mavs will watch the waiver wire and perhaps give a call to somebody like veteran 6-11 forward/center Dale Davis, who has been semi-retired in the Keith Van Horn mold.

"He's on the list," Cuban said.
WOOT! I'd love to see DD come back.

I was thinking we waive Flip and sign him to be our Big Man.

The Mavericks know they need a size infusion on the front line behind Erick Dampier after surrendering DeSagana Diop in the Jason Kidd deal, and they're exploring a market that features the likes of Diogu and Minnesota's Michael Doleac. But Dallas would seemingly prefer to wait until after the trading deadline, when the pool of available big men could conceivably get deeper after a few player buyouts. The Mavs have two roster spots open and all of their $5.2 million midlevel exception to use to fill them.

I know, a lot of people don't know that =). We still have our MLE to be used up on anyone who is bought out

Why isn't he doing good in Indiana?
He'd be a good pickup and we could use him for the future.

Oh I thought DD meant Desagana Diop, I thought the Nets would release him and he could re-sign in 30 days, but guess not.

Dale Davis was one of my favorite players at one time, back when the Pacers were in the finals.

We got enough to sign someone like Ike.
We signed Amir for 3Mill out of the MLE(I belive)
And I think we used most of the rest on Jarvis. We could still sign Ike if he's bought out...
If we don't have any we could always convince him to sign for the Min.
