Less than a week after winning the Super Bowl, the New York Giants got the 2008 season off to a good start by retaining defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

Just hours after Spagnuolo withdrew his name from consideration for the Washington Redskins coaching job on Thursday, the Giants gave the 48-year-old a new three-year, $6 million contract that will make him one of the NFL's highest paid coordinators.

Spagnuolo withdraws

Steve Spagnuolo withdrew his name from consideration for the Redskins head coaching job on Thursday, citing his desire to remain with the Super Bowl champions.
A decision on the Redskins' vacancy could be imminent, although owner Dan Snyder has kept the process well under wraps since Joe Gibbs resigned Jan. 8. Full story "I was happy to have the opportunity to explore that situation," Spagnuolo said in a statement released by the Giants. "But I am equally happy to be staying in New York and look forward to continued success with the Giants."

Good news for the G-Men. This guy's new nicknameshoul be Sacknuolo. Hopefully Strahan stays one more year and we can get some a young MLB. I dont really trust Kwika Mitchell in the LONG RUN.

Or a Safety because I dont trust Butler either.

Got S. Moss, S. Smith and David "The Cranium" Tyree.

I'd say Offensive Lineman, possibly a center. I dont follow much college aside from Uconn and USC so i dont know who's out there.

A safety wouldnt hurt either.

Your right, we're good on WR's but we all know the Tyree isnt the WR he showed himself to be in the SB.
