From rotoworld.com
Sources tell the Baltimore Sun that the Ravens are gearing up to make a run at Bill Cowher to succeed Brian Billick as head coach.

Ravens officials could reportedly meet with Cowher by as soon as this weekend. Cowher, currently an analyst for CBS, has said he doesn't plan to return to coaching before 2009, but the idea of taking over a talented, veteran team could be intriguing. Cowher also knows the AFC North quite well.

Just like Johnny Damon said he would "NEVER play for the Yankees", and Raffy Palmeiro said he "NEVER took steroids"...I could list others.

I don't know, that was in response to the lousy Falcons though. The Ravens are a much much better team, perhaps enough to make him change his mind. I think it would be good for him and the Ravens, a defensive team and a defensive guy. He would help this team out a lot.

They are alike to the team he had in Pittsburgh...just I don't think the Ravens have as many offensive weapons as the Steelers did

This makes too much sense for Cowher. The Ravens would be the ideal team for him to take over with his "run first" offensive game planning & given how much emphasis he places on defense. In addition, he could have this team in the playoffs within his first season rather than spending 2-3 years rebuilding the Falcons.

Money talks fellas and this could be the best job opportunity available within the next 2 years. Much like Mike Tomlin did, Cowher could take the reigns of a team that is capable of a playoff year.
