Bulls Ready To Deal Wallace?

Serious trade talk typically doesn't begin until January in the NBA, but logic would suggest Chicago Bulls general manager John Paxson is ready to explore ways to trade center Ben Wallace.

The Bulls would have to pay a premium, but one positive is that his contract was front-loaded, which means from the original $60 million deal, he's owed $28.5 million over the next two seasons.

"Change is not always bad," Wallace said after Saturday's dismal 116-98 home loss to Houston. "If everybody wants to be here, we have to step it up."

The most obvious trade targets for the Bulls are New Jersey Nets point guard Jason Kidd and Memphis Grizzlies center Pau Gasol.

He is serverly declining and he basaclly helps the other team when it's cruch time due to lack of an offensive game.

Could some of you Detroiters tell me what the hell has happened to this guy? He was some freaking dominating as a fixture in the Pistons' line-up.

I have to put the pieces together and figure that he was so good with the Pistons because of who played around him. Did guys like Rip and Sheed make him look that good? Or did he just suddenly hit a wall when he got to Chicago?

I'd say it was those that surrounded him in Detroit. Everyone knows that Detroit is a defensive minded team, and Wallace is a defensive minded guy. For years it was Big Ben and Rasheed anchoring the front, they had great chemistry together up front, like you said AE he also had good defenders with Rip out in the perimeter. He doesn't have that in Chicago, no front court sidekick, little help on the outside with guys like Nocioni double-teaming when it's not needed, leaving guys open to drive into the lane getting him into trouble.

I'll say that I wasn't expecting it though, all of Detroit seems to have seen it though, that without his psychic connection with Rasheed, he's useless.

Although he is still one of my favorite players, I still have to agree with you guys. he is just not a good fit for Chicago. I would not mind seeing Pau Gasol come to the Bulls, but I know for certain that the Bulls would have to give a lot more than just Big Ben for him.

I don't know where I see him fitting in besides maybe Golden State or Atlanta. those are complete etchy guesses though.

Looking more like he just wasn't playing hard for Skiles than anything else right now... Since the coaching change he has seemed to come alive again and those nagging injuries look like they have somehow dissappeared.

Man, I bet Dumars would try to get him back. I really wouldn't mind if he could play the way he played for us. Plus he can shoot free-throws all of a sudden now >_>
