Seattle head coach Mike Holmgren could be coaching his final regular-season game on Sunday. The Seahawks have the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoffs wrapped up, but Holmgren will play to win anyway. There will be no wholesale benching of his starters. At this stage in my life I'm taking it a year at a time," Holmgren said. "I've had talks with our own management, and they didn't tell me that they were particularly unhappy with me or anything, but I'm taking it a year at a time."

Quite possibly could be true. Will most likely depend on how far the Seahawks get in the Playoffs this season. Maybe it's just me but it seems like every season it's always the same thing from Seattle. Other than the year they went to the Super Bowl, each season they win (the dismal) NFC West with about 9 or 10 wins, they are the 4th seed in the Playoffs, and they are bounced no later than the 2nd round.

Holmgren will never get fired by consistently winning the division and making the playoffs each season but what if you cannot get over that hump? This team is not good enough to win the Super Bowl, never has been under Holmgren, and never will be. They need a lot of changes in both the Coaching staff and some key personnel.

In my opinion, put the Seahawks in the NFC East or NFC North...they aren't any better than an 8-8 team at best in any given season. The one thing they have going for them in 2008 is that their defensive has been playing very well. Good defense is always a plus in the NFL Playoffs.

Seahawks are a much better team then an 8-8 team. The had Shaun Alexander out for much of the season and Mauirce Morris did pretty good for them filling in. They have a good QB,two decent backs,4 pretty good WR's and a hella good D. I see them being an sleeper in the playoffs and could upset some teams.

What I said was if they were in the NFC North or NFC East, they wouldn't be any better than an 8-8 team.

Either way...
2007: 10-5
2006: 9-7
2005: 13-3
2004: 9-7
2003: 10-6
2002: 7-9
2001: 9-7
2000: 6-10
...this team is rarely any better than a 10-win team on any given season.
