The speculation began during the finale of the 2006 NFL season. After going down to a knee injury, McNabb watched Jeff Garcia post a 95.8 QB rating, while leading the Eagles in 8 games, earning a trip to the post-season. Things also seemed to be spiraling in a different direction when the Eagles used the 36th pick in the 2007 draft to select QB Kevin Kolb out of Houston.

Eagles Team President Joe Banner and Head Coach Andy Reid put an end to all pre-season speculation by reassuring that Donovan would be the team's starting quarterback in 2007 and so on. McNabb was back on the field earlier than expected, following knee surgery, however the failure to produce wins this season has all the questions surrounding McNabb's immediate future with the team back in high gear.

McNabb threw for 2,979 yards, 18 touchdowns and only six interceptions, coupled with a passer rating of 89.5, and a completion percentage of 60.6 in 2007. While his stats rank among some of the best in his 9-year career, he is seeing injuries more frequently each season, and at 7-8 with no playoffs, his inability to lead the team is in serious question.

"It's important for me to have Donovan back," says Brian Westbrook.
"I like the improvement he's made," says Andy Reid. "I think he's playing confident football."
"I can't envision a situation in which (McNabb) is not our quarterback next year," says Joe Banner.

McNabb's teammates remain loyal to their "field general" and all implications are that the organization plans to have him back in 2008, but there's no doubt in the minds of many that should a team offer up a first-round draft package in exchange for McNabb, the Eagles would take it. McNabb is slotted to make $6.3 million next season, which is not a tough figure for any team's cap.

Despite any of his recent, misconstrued comments made prior to the match-up versus the Dallas Cowboys, McNabb remains content with his future in Philadelphia. "They can talk about where I may go, or whatever may happen, but until something is final I'm still here in Philadelphia and that's how I'm going to treat it." -AE, SI Eagles Team Captain

McNabb in Detroit could be pretty damn lethal. Only if we could get an offensive line to protect his injury prone arse.

McNabb won't come to Detroit, he would come to either Chicago or stay in Philly imo. Reggie Brown needs to be more consistent and give McNabb a solid #1 Wr. Kevin Curtis is a pretty good #2 Wr, but he's not a #1 Wr.

Don't expect too much opinion out of me when I post these news articles. I am looking to strictly put facts, quotes, and other supporting items on paper. You will see my opinions show up in all the replies and discussion that follow the post.
