Alge Crumpler, Chris Houston, DeAngelo Hall, Roddy White, and Joe Horn were all fined by the NFL on Monday for various uniform violations in which each player showed support for jailed quarterback, Michael Vick.

After a Roddy White touchdown during last Monday's showdown versus New Orleans, wide receiver Joe Horn pulled up White's jersey and revealed a home-made "Free Michael Vick" t-shirt he was wearing underneath. The efforts cost White $10,000 and Horn $7,500.

Crumpler, Houston, and Hall were also fined $10,000 each for wearing eye-black strips bearing written support of Vick. The fact that the NFL doubled up on the typical $5,000 uniform violation fine shows that the league does not appreciate gestures concerning the issue.

This is the second time Michael Vick has been tied to a hefty league effort of banning some sort of clothing attempt bearing his name. 2 years ago, the league placed a ban on fans bearing any sort of clothing or any signs that mentioned Vick's "Ron Mexico" alias. -AE

It's not that hard to figure out why the league would be pissed about it. Michael Vick is a criminal, a convicted felon who sat in Roger Goodell's office a few months back and lied straight to his face about his role in this sherade.

It's bad publicity for the league and players showing off their "Free Vick" t-shirts during games only attracts more attention to the situation, causing more people to talk about a negative situation...rather than how great Tom Brady and the undefeated New England Patriots are.

Give it a rest Atlanta. I know Vick's your "homeboy" but he's a jailed criminal and it's not cool to support "jail-birds."

You see its people who think like this who make me mad, who cares about bad publicity, hell Im sure AT LEAST 50% of all people who watch football have someone they know in prison.

My cousin was sentenced to 13 years and was killed in prison and later they found out he didnt do it. Why should we turn our backs on him or anyone for that matter who have been convicted? answer that.

Why shouldnt we support those who are in prison? now dont get me wrong there are those who do deserve to be there (murderers, molesters, etc...) but should they be placed in the context of someone who fought dogs? I dont believe so.

Regardless of what ANYONE thinks, everyone makes mistakes, everyone makes stupid decisions from time to time, but that doesnt mean they should be shunned for the rest of their lives....think about it what if you were on the other side of the fence what would you want?

Who cares about bad publicity? How about every major corporation in the World...including the NFL. I don't know anyone personally in prison either.

Because your cousins case is very, very rare. There's always exceptions...but the justice system statistics don't lie.
Why shouldnt we support those who are in prison?
Because they are criminals and I personally choose to spend my time supporting people who don't break the law. You know, people that aid communities rather than placing a burden on them. Although, technically I do support those in prison because I pay my taxes every year. I wouldn't had I a choice though.

It's not my fault that any of them ended up behind bars. I have my own problems and feelings to worry about.
Unless you know what it feels like to know you'll
I obey the law and won't ever up behind bars. So your right...I NEVER will know what it feels like to be a burden on society.

If I were President of the United States...the minute the Judge sentences you to 20+ years or higher behind bars, the Police take you out back and throw you in the shark tank.

Spend your time supporting the Soldiers having to spend their Holidays in the Middle East, away from their families. Feel guilty for the 9/11 volunteer Firefighters and EMT's that have a ton of health problems because what they were exposed to at ground-zero. Wear a t-shirt supporting heros instead of supporting that lieing, pot-smoking, gangster-wannabe, criminal Mike Vick. Let God forgive Vick, I dont have to. I personally could care less what happens to him.

WOW.

you know what, Im not even gonna do this, Im not gonna change ur mind and your not gonna change mine, but Im sure you and I grew up in two totally different enviorments. I respect your opinion, but I just dont understand how the word convict can change someones whole outlook on who they think you are. Like I said some peoples mistakes are "bigger" then others, but after they served their time should they still be judged? I mean they cant get jobs, cant vote, and now you wanna throw em in the shark tank?

Fact is, there are some people who wont give up on you just b/c you stole to provide, or "fought dogs"

I dont wanna be all religious, but Jesus says it himself "Those who have not sinned may cast the first stone" NOBODY has the right to judge ANYBODY.

Well deserved. If I were Petrino I would have left to because of the attitude and the immaturity on that team. The immaturity was shown here. Supporting someone who helped kill innocent pit bulls. Good to see Goodell fining them for this.

IMO, this really doesn't have to do with the pitbulls. More with the fact that Vick is a convicted felon and he lied right to Goodell's face

Well all the players new this was coming....but I do think its a stupid rule. I'd wear a shirt that says fine me and show that off when I score.

LOL your one to talk about immaturity huh?

doesnt matter though, once Vick gets out he'll be right back in the league, its going to be the same situation as Kobe's "rape" case.

I may be a tad immature but I'm not stupid enough to wear a t-shirt supporting a felon during a game that is being shown across the world.

man I'm sorry but if you don't even know how influential Vick was in Atlanta there wasn't a person I could find in Atlanta that didn't like Vick.Think of yourself in that sitaution if you messed up then apologize numerous times we shouldn't you be forgiven everybody deserves a second chance. If that was one of your family members you'd probably be havin a FREE WHOEVER shirt also and calling him a criminal is just not really right there are plenty of people who made fights with dogs, chickens etc. and you don't see 300+ people out there campaigning against them with signs and what not. Im Atlanta stars like him are taken seriously (Ex. Nique shoulda seen what happened when he got traded)

You guys keep pointing out "think if you were in that situation"...but why should I? I would never be dumb enough to put myself in that situation and if I were, I wouldn't be surprised when everyone turns their back on me.

Your right, plenty of other people are involved in illegal and inhumane activities all over the World. Those people are just as much convicts as Michael Vick is...they just haven't been caught yet. Doesn't make them any better. Michael Vick deserves to get hammered more than anybody else though, he's in the spotlight and that's just the nature of the beast.

I don't care how influential Vick was in Atlanta. No matter who you argue this topic with, your most likely not going to get your point across. Vick admitted to the wrong doing he did and hasn't even served a full month of the time he has coming to him...but already you guys are spinning it like Vick is a victim. I don't even like dogs but I have no respect for these high profile athletes that take their money and continue to live such a trashy lifestyle.

Kobe Bryant had money and money got him in the free and clear. People may have already forgotten but I haven't. I have hated Kobe Bryant since he was brought up on rape charges and always will...no matter how good he is at the game of basketball.

I choose to respect guys like Warrick Dunn in this World. Go read his life story, what he had to go through as the elder sibling with no parents, how he accomplished so much with so little...and all the work he does now for single mothers all across the country. Michael Vick is a cock-roach in comparison to a guy like Dunn.

True, but that has nothing to do with the point I was making.
It actually does...you tried to bring the teaching of God into you're argument.

So I found a point you made that goes completely against one of God's core "rules"(for the lack of a better term). So wouldn't that be a double standard?
