funny thing is .. you don't hear what Rolle called him before he said "boy"... can't wait to hear the ref's side of the story on this.. cuz you know it was a whole lot more involved then what Rolle is letting on to
Eh...probably just the usual blasting for a ref on a bad call....is what i'm thinking.

Yes, the NFL wants the Patriots to win. Why wouldn't they? The media cannot get enough of the Patriots right now & the possibility of them going 16-0 or better yet, 19-0 is good publicity for the league.

No, the Ravens are not the victims of any type of conspiracy. As a matter of fact, here are the specific aspects concerning Baltimore allowing the Patriots to steal a win:

1. Kyle Boller over-throws Mason on a deep ball that was picked off. Instead of looking for something in the flat or dumping it off to McGahee, Boller got greedy and threw a bad pass to an area of the field where NE had both Safties over the top. The INT leads to NE field goal, rather than a potential Baltimore field goal & more time off the clock.

2. Rex Ryan's decision to call a "timeout" just prior to the 4th and 12 play, which would have resulted in a Ray Lewis sack. There was no reason Ryan should have called that timeout. Baltimore had all the right personnel on the field, they were killing NE's O-Line and the Patriots were backed into a corner. Ryan instead freaks out and calls the timeout...a pause in gameplay that allowed the Patriots to evaluate their options and took away all of Baltimore's momentum during the drive.

3. Horrible coverage courtesy of the Ravens during NE's final play. Brady can throw one precise pass and you can blame the Ravens secondary for allowing Gaffney to sneak into the corner of the end zone. Brady "threaded the needle" and (I can't remember exactly which defender) that closest Ravens' DB was just sitting in the zone, a "dead duck" if you will. Yes, it was a catch. Gaffney didn't have the ball completely pinned down, but it was hardly 'bobbling', he had two hands on it, and the pigskin was in his pocket. Good call by the Officials.

Now here's where the Officials were wrong in that game. Called a Defensive Holding on the Ravens during that 4th down incomplete pass to Ben Watson was a horrible call. The Refs were letting both secondaries play very physical all game and they were not throwing flags for that same type of contact all game. One thing that drives me nuts is when Officials decide to change the way they call penalties at the end of the game, more common than not, in a crucial moment. For the love of God, these Refs need to be consistent in what they let these DB's get away with.

On the flip side, who cares if the Ref called Rolle "boy". The Ravens are a bunch of punks and nobody talks more sh*t then their Defensive personnel. I dont consider "boy" to be anything close to as harsh and insulting as what Bart Scott was hollering at the Officials after he was flagged twice.

Patriot fans be advised: There's a few very good reasons why most non-Patriot fans hate your team.

1. Like it or not, no matter how good they both are, Bill Belichek and Tom Brady are arrogant mother-f'ers. Belichek's little smerks after winning games makes me want to reach through my TV and strangle him...and is there anybody more of a "showoff" and "prick" than Tom Brady when it comes to post-game press conferences? After last week's win at Philadelphia, Brady stepped to the podium and said...and I quote: "Make it quick guys, I am going home." Last night, Brady ended his press conference with: "Okay that's two questions, I am outta' here."

2. Patriots overload on TV. I can relate to most fans when it comes to the frustration of watching the same damn teams on TV all week. Hell, I am frustrated as all hell that I couldn't do more than listen to the Vikings pound the Lions b/c here in upstate NY, I have 3 options every week...watching the Bills, watching the Giants, or watching the Patriots. The Pats are on MNF how many times? Add that to NBC flexing every other available Patriot game, plus all the ESPN coverage....its enough to make most people want to vomit. But as a Yankee fan...I understand why it is the way it is....but I dont have to like it.

3. Simply b/c our team is not as good as yours. I will admit it, I am envious that Vegas doesn't even want to take bets on Pats' games anymore b/c they are such a lock each week.

Dang AE, how do you come up with all this stuff??? DO you look around and see stuff and add it to your own or pull it all out of your head??

ANd I think it was a 4th and 1 call and they stopped Brady on the sneak.

I regard myself as a very knowlegeable sports fan that always has an opinion. This post was all spewed from my brain...which is now spinning like a CD.

I thought that timeout prior to the 4th down play negated Lewis' sack where he shot up the middle before Brady even had a chance to drop back. I think the play after the timeout was when Brady scrambled for the 1st down. I could be mistaken, it was late and that drive was full of details.

It's clearly a conspiracy. The NFL has been waiting so long for a team like the Pats to come along...

I actually thought the real conspiracy came back in 2001. To this day I feel that the NFL rigged the '01 season so that the Patriots would miraculously win the Super Bowl...due to the fiasco surrounding 9/11. The League even made up rules to help the Patriots along during crucial Playoff moments.

What conspiracy theory? Just because the Ravens got three fourth down stops, all called back by the Ref's, one of them being a phantom holding call doesn't mean there's a conspiracy going on.

The Pats are obviously just that damned good.

Ok, the holding call was bogus...but there bad calls and good calls all game.

Also, the other two stops were not "called back" by the refs. One was a timeout by Baltimore and the other a false start by the Patriots. Yea the timeout was called by the defensive coordinator but honestly, how the hell would you know who is yelling in your ear so I don't see a big problem with that. And I don't know how a false start by the Pats is calling back the Ravens fourth down stop?

Ya it really is funny. Although I do have a ssllllight suspicion that the NFL "wants" the Pats to go undefeated, but not so much that they are "trying" to make them go undefeated. It would just bring so much publicity to the NFL, the Pats, all the teams in fact, and Goodell if there were a second team in NFL history to go undefeated.

Those fourth down plays were meaningless. You guys are acting like they stopped them, but you can't look at them that way. Tom Brady hypothetically could've ran those in for touchdowns and the plays still wouldn't of counted. It just so happened that, if the plays would've counted, the Ravens stopped them short. But if the Pats would've scored a touchdown the plays wouldn't of counted either.
