The Dallas Mavericks are the ideal destination for Kobe. They have way more assets that could be used for a trade. Josh Howard, Jason Terry and DeSaqana Diop could all be used to trade for Bryant without pushing them over the salary cap and not destroying their team at the same time. This would leave the Dallas Mavericks with a starting lineup consisting of

C - Erick Dampier
PF - Dirk Nowitzki
SF - Jerry Stackhouse
SG - Kobe Bryant
PG - Devin Harris

That's definitely a championship lineup. I just don't know if Cuban is going to go for it. He's said it himself that they already have a great team. I don't know if he would want to shake that up right now.
No Dirk, no deal
i dont want dirk, but im just saying
if the lakers can get a superstar in a trade for Kobe, then they have too

But the thing is that the Lakers won't get a superstar for Kobe unless its someone like Ben Gordon, cause his contract is uncertain.

I personally think Ben Gordon for Kobe Bryant would be an even trade.

Kobe's 29 and still a great player, but no one knows how many great years he has left in him. Plus, his relationship with the Lakers may be souring even more just talking this much about trades.

Ben Gordon is 24 and playing tremendously, and I still don't think he's even near his peak ability. He would certainly be an important part on any team that he went to.

However, as good as Kobe is, I wouldn't support this trade at all. As a Bulls fan, I believe their chances of winning an NBA Championship are large enough already with the team they have.

No thats not even. Gordon will never be as good as Kobe. The Bulls would have throw in a bit more.

Not a chance that's even. A 35 year old Kobe (I know he's not 35) is still better than Ben Gordon at any age...

lol, I would love to have the Bulls trade ben gordon striahgt up for Kobe.

however, the Lakers are asking WAY TOO MUCH.

Like I said in my first post:: They wanted Gordon, Nocioni, Tyrus, Joakim, and a first round pick. So all of our big men (minus Ben) and our shooting guard for Kobe, yea right.

Paxson realized they wanted too much and Kobe is definitely not going to be a Bull unless Lakers lower their price.

What the lakers should do is try a trade somthing like Kobe for Tyrus Thomas, Luol Deng, and cash...(even though it wouldnt work) Thomas, Deng, and Bynum>ALL potential wise.

It's probably gonna end up being something like Kobe and Bynum for Wallace, Gordon, and Deng/Thomas if he goes to Chicago...

The Bulls WILL NEVER part with both Gordon and Deng. It is one or the other and the Bulls would much rather trade Gordon.

I don't see why you say NEVER, especially with the best scorer in the NBA coming into town. Here's what the lineup would look like -

C - Andrew Bynum
PF - Joe Smith/Tyrus Thomas
SF - Andres Nocioni
SG - Kobe Bryant
PG - Kirk Hinrich

I don't think either are needed on that team. Nocioni is a capable forward, Tyrus Thomas is a future stud, and Andrew Bynum could also develop into something nice. Sure you're giving up two future all-stars, but isn't Kobe worth it?

I say never because Paxson says never. And no Kobe isn't worth it.

So you'd rather stockpile for the future than easily be the best team in the East now? Hmmm, maybe I agree with you, but you're not gonna be able to keep both, I think you have to trade one away in this deal or else you'll get nothing for him...

1) we are one of the best, if not the ebst team in the East right now.

2) Yes obviously one will have to go if this deal was to go through. Now from a non-bias perspective, it would likely be Nocioni, Gordon, and Noah with a first round pick if this trade was going to happen. The Lakers want more, but that would be right around in the Bulls price range. However, I think the Bulls would be much better just keeping their team the way it is. No need to change if you have one of the best teams in the east, and I love they way they play team basketball. Kobe is a cancer and the team would take some time to adjust to him, especially since preseason is almost over.

But you can't do that cap wise. Unless you're gonna package about 5 players, Ben Wallace has to be included, which would mean Bynum would have to be included to come back to the Bulls so they'd have a big man.

Which is why the trade won't happen. All the papers reported that the Bulls will not be getting Kobe Bryant right now.
