Yzerman isn't interested in trading Stamkos

Lightning GM Steve Yzerman isn't interested in trading restricted free agent Steve Stamkos.
The rumors about a trade or offer sheet are only going to continue until Stamkos inks a contract, but Yzerman certainly isn't doing anything to fuel them. "I’m not interested in discussing a possible trade," Yzerman said. "I’m committed to re-signing Steven." Yzerman also reiterated that he's confident that the Lightning will re-sign Stamkos. The Lightning have more than enough cap space available to ink Stamkos to a very lucrative contract. We'll keep you posted.

Y knows what the heck he is doing in Tampa. This should hopefully kill all those rumors now.

Stevie Y is one of those guys that was not only a great player but has a great hockey mind. He didn't get Lighting to the Conference Finals by accident, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again next season, with Stamkos still in uniform.
