Former Hawks coach Mike Woodson will be interviewed for the Pistons’ opening should John Kuester not be back with Detroit next season, ESPN.com reports.

While there has not been any word from the team, the website reported Sunday that once Tom Gores is approved as the team’s new owner by the NBA’s Board of Governors, which is expected to happen Wednesday, the Pistons will announce that a coaching change will be made.

Woodson was Larry Brown’s top assistant when the Pistons won the NBA championship in 2004. He was hired as head coach of the Hawks that summer. Atlanta went 206-286 during Woodson’s six-year tenure and made the playoffs the last three years of that span.
No shocker that he will be interviewed, since he does have ties here.
I wouldn't mind it. Dude is a defensive wizard.

Him or Adelman makes me a happy camper.

Seems like Detroit is going for a veteran coach.

Not many other options if I'm not mistaken.
Turning Detroit in a legit team would also make his resume look even nicer.
