USA Today - Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley says that the Ravens and Joe Flacco won't make a Super Bowl appearance "in this lifetime."

Asked on The NFL Network if Flacco can led Baltimore to the Super Bowl, Woodley responded:

"No, not at all because they have to go through one team -- that's the Pittsburgh Steelers in that AFC championship. So in order for them to get to the Super Bowl, they have to beat us, and we're not gonna let that happen once we get that close. So that's not gonna happen in this lifetime."

The Flacco-led Ravens have lost in Heinz Field in two of the last three postseasons.

if im not mistaken, did ed reed play last year vs PIT?

IMO the Ravens are the 2nd best team in the AFC, behind NE.

Knowing Flacco has at least 8 more years to him, and with the talent he has, I wouldnt be shocked if they made the SB. In fact, i wouldnt be shocked if they made it in the next season

How do you fucking figure that they are the second beast team, with New England leading the way in the AFC? The Colts, Steelers and Jets arguably are better than all those teams. The Patriots haven't done anything note worthy to be pronounced as the top team in the AFC, I still have to say it would most likely be the Steelers if you asked me.

Flacco won't win a Super Bowl. That's probably pretty damn bold on my part, but I just don't see it. That talent around him is going down, and when that defense ages with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed not having much time left, it's not going to be good for the Ravens. Flacco can't lead his team to shoot-out game victories on a weekly basis.

you think they were the #1 seed last year because they were bad? did they have the best record in football last year? yes. Did they have the MVP? yes.

And please PLEASE prove to me how the Colts are better than the Patriots. kam hates our guts, because he thinks all Patriot fans are bandwagoners, but he still says the Patriots are the #1 team in the AFC.

Like, there maybe be a point for NYJ> NE, because 2 of the Pats 3 losses were versus the Jets. But Tom Brady had his only bad game of the season in that one playoff game (giving props to the Jets there). But if NE played the Jets 10 times, we'd win at least 6 times. The other time we played the Jets, we destroyed them badly.

And we beat the Steelers pretty well too. I am fairly confident the Pats could have beaten the Steelers if we had beaten the Jets.

smh mooche. I respected you as an NFL guy before you said the Colts> Patriots.

You guys lost to the New York Jets, at home... A team that you guys should kicked a few weeks before in the season. Tell me how that is really impressive? People want to get on the Colts ass for pulling such a move, my Lord, why should we say the Patriots had an amazing season then? They didn't do nothing in the playoffs, either.

OH NOEZ. The all knowing Kam says the Patriots are the best team in the NFL, so it must be true... Please man. You guys seriously need to hop off his rodney and talk football. He doesn't hate the Colts though, either, right? Proof how we are better? How is it some far fetched idea. We had a team that was full of injuries for the most part, and no I'm not making an excuse but key guys were not in the line-up when we played you guys, and you know we had you beat.. You know that, I know that.

I don't see how I lost respect for making a post that makes logical sense. I think you need to take off the Patriot shades for just like, two seconds, and realize that they aren't ahead of the pack in the AFC like you think. Like I said, the Steelers, Jets and Colts ALL have strong cases.

I have no problem with what he said.

That is the type of mentality that I want every single player on my team to have.

It'd take this with a grain of salt. He's a Steeler, he doesn't want to see them get to the SB, understandable. Come on Woodley. I could understand saying they wont win a SB, but not even making it there is a stretch.

I get his intentions by it, and the Ravens will just use this as bulletin board material. Plus, it's not like the Steelers are the only team in that division. I do think he will be proven wrong. I'd see the Ravens making the SB, at least once, with Flacco as their QB. Never said winning it, just that they'd make it.
