A little, but it's not bad.

For a center who beasts when on the court but can't stay healthy? He better play at least 70 games this coming season, and his goal should be 82 (75, realistically).

Agree with this 100%. I've said this before on the forum, if there is a bigman making 5-8M a season he more than likely has lead feet and is pretty mediocre.

If you would have told me a couple years ago that Pekovic and Josh Smith would have made roughly the same annually, I would have called you nuts lol.

That being said, I think it is well deserved. One of the better big men in the league.

not really

Just because everyone is overpaid doesn't mean he's deserving

Victor Cruz makes $9M. No fucking way an average C in the NBA should make more than a top 12 WR in the NFL

Pek will earn this contract if he stays healthy, and that's a big if.

Quick note for entertainment purposes: Apparently on sports radio in the Twin Cities, they refer to him as "The Big Pekker."

Thought you guys might enjoy that.

Aren't you only allowed to extend one player to a 5 year deal under the new CBA, designating him as your franchise player? Did the Wolves actually just do that with Pek, while they still have Kevin Love on their roster?

When was Love signed in reference to the time that the new CBA took effect? I can't remember.

He signed his extension after the new CBA came into effect. So yea, basically, once his extension runs out, they can't offer him a 5 year deal, if I'm reading this CBA right

In conclussion, he's essentially gone once this contract is up, unless they trade him before hand. He probably was going to leave anyway, but this would all but seal the deal.

that is correct but kevin love has been an all star, right? or he will at least before his contract is up so he can get a bigger deal from that.

he was the one who didnt want a five year deal anyways, he sealed his own fate.
