Sam Amico is reporting that the Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves are discussing a potential trade for the second overall selection in the NBA Draft.

Amico mentions Danny Granger, Ricky Rubio and Michael Beasley as some of the players being discussed between the two teams, so clearly these two teams are looking to make a major deal. If David Kahn deals the second overall pick and gives up Rubio and Beasley in the same trade, he better receive a haul of talent in return or he's going to face some serious backlash from the fans.
Darren Collison is also rumored to be involved.

theyre giving up on rubio, this is the first hint at that..

still, giving up beasley, rubio and two(possibly more) for granger and collison. that wolves team is still lottery bound..

Beasley is solid, but I don't think a team has any chance of getting past the first round with him as your #2 player. A core of Granger/Love with a young quick PG like Collison, a 2nd year Wesley Johnson, and Darko at C... Really a big improvement over what they've been putting out there since KG left. Oh, and Anthony Randolph was pretty good for them after he was acquired.

yea, the main core of that team is solid. plus they have luke, and flynn. but that team still isnt a playoff team, even in the west thats getting a bit weaker.

My thing is, what are you going to do with Beasley if you draft Williams at #2?

If the Pacers trade Granger, one has to think they want Williams pretty bad. I wouldn't give up Collison though, not for an unproven guy like Rubio especially.

rubio WILL be better than collison. its just the fact that collison is playing now and we arent sure when rubio will be over, if ever.

Eh...you can say that, but we won't know til he plays. He could be the guard form of Darko for all we know...and Collison played real well in the playoffs, but he's been down ever since going to the Pacers.

I think it makes sense for them...they don't need a Derrick Williams unless they unload Wes or Beasley...Kanter they could use...but he's iffy.

I feel like Collison may be the next Andre Miller.

Colison - Johnson - Granger - Love - Darko

Would definitely go to T'Wolves games more often.

There is no scenario not involving a superstar player that makes trading the #2 overall pick OK. None at all. David Kahn is just a David Stern puppet who's following orders by trying to destroy the franchise so they can contract it.

I think Granger alone would almost be worth that #2 pick lol. Class is weak as all get out.

I think this class could surprise some folks tho, just depending on a lot of these players' work ethic. I like a few of the players in this crop

I think a lot of these players will work their butts off. I know Jimmer will, and he's gonna have to.
