There have been rumors flying about the New England Patriots possibly trading for Julius Peppers since the beginning of the offseason and they've persisted in spite of repeated debunkings.

Although it's a hypothetical, NFL Insider Adam Schefter has also brought up the San Francisco 49ers as a possible destination for Peppers, should the Carolina Panthers elect to trade him.

A trade to the Niners would be particularly ironic, as it would likely involve a 2010 first-round pick, and the Niners currently own the Panthers' 2010 first-rounder. In exchange for that pick, the Panthers got the Niners' second-round pick in April, which they used on defensive end Everette Brown, who is still learning at the altar of Peppers. It's the circle of life in the NFL, folks.

Can't say I'm surprised. Peppers has been unhappy with the Panthers forever now and has wanted out for some time.

I think its almost inevitable he ends up traded, if the Panthers are smart. Because he isnt going to re-sign so they should get all they can for him.

With that said they wont get enough for him because teams know he's going to bolt regardless after this year.

With the way they're playing, there's nothing to lose. Just trade him. It will suck but its better than losing him for nothing.

Trent Cole and Julius Peppers would be a lovely DE partnership for us, doubt it though.

I'd love to see him on the Pats but again the price question comes into play..as well as whether or not we'd be able to bring him back at the end of the season.

Julius Peppers would go to the HOF if he came to the Giants. He would be immortalized with all our other great defensive players. I think hes going to the Patriots. Heck I would go if I was Peppers.

lmfao at all you guys and your "PEPPERS ON _________" "ZOMGZ GODLY"
He's either going to the 49ers or Patriots, IMO. So don't hold your breath.

P.S.

Seymour, Ellis, Kelly and Peppers?
Holy rape.

You made fun of me cuz I think Peppers would be amazing with the Giants....... lol.
Yeah, but let's be honest. You think the Giants have any shot in hell of getting him?
DLine help is the last thing they need.

That is true, unless we made him into one of those hybrid OLB'ers. Like Demarcus Ware, lol. Peppers is definitely going to go to a perennial contender, you can tell.
