So looking at the Pelicans, here are who they have signed to guaranteed contracts:

Eric Gordon ($14.9M)
Tyreke Evans ($11.3M)
Jrue Holiday ($10.4M)
Ryan Anderson ($8.5M)
Anthony Davis ($5.6M)
Austin Rivers ($2.4M)
Alexis Ajinca ($981K)

As far as players on our roster, moving Eric Gordon's contract has to be priority #1. If they can do that, even if it's for another player with a $8-10M dollar deal, that opens up a lot more cap space then we are projected to have. Reke, Jrue, Ryno, AD, and Austin should all return. Ajinca isn't a starting caliber center, and I'm not sure if he's even a guy you want coming off your bench every night, but he's effective against the bigger centers and is making less than 1M so may as well bring him back as well.

The team option players are:
Darius Miller ($1.1M)
Brian Roberts ($1.1M)

Roberts will likely see his QO increase to above 3M, and you have to decline that. I wouldn't mind bringing back on a cheap deal though, I think eh could be a solid scoring guard off the bench. I'd probably let Miller walk, if he's not getting a high number of minutes he makes no impact on the game, and even if he does get those minutes he still may not make an impact.

Player option:
Anthony Morrow ($1.2M)

Bringing Morrow back would be my second highest priority. He's got an elite skill set (shooting), which is vital when you have guys like Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans on your roster. He's also one of the biggest team leaders. I'd give him a 2 or 3 year deal worth 3 to 4.5M, or 1.5M a year. I think he's earned that.

Non-guaranteed contracts:
Jeff Withey ($816K)
Luke Babbitt ($981K)

Bring Withey back. He's shown capabilities of being a solid reserve big. I don't think he'll ever be a starter but I'd prefer him over Ajinca or Greg Stiemsma in the future. Let Babbitt walk, his skill set is kind of redundant with Ryan Anderson on the team.

Expiring contracts:
Jason Smith
Al-Farouq Aminu
Greg Stiemsma

Bring Smith back on a cheap contract, and more importantly put him back into his correct role. He's injury prone, but like Morrow, he's one of the team leaders. Let Aminu walk, and drive Stiemsma to the airport and tell him to never come back.

So that leaves you with:

Evans
Holiday
Anderson
Davis
Rivers
Ajinca
Roberts
Morrow
Withey
Smith

The Bulls situation is as such:

Players under contract:
Rose $18.8M
Boozer $16.8M
Noah $12.2M
Gibson $8.0M
Dunleavy $3.3M
Snell $1.5M
Butler $2M
Erik Murphy $816k (unguaranteed)

The Bulls really have set themselves up quite well for the future. I'd like to see us try and trade Boozer but we all know that's not going to happen. The other option is to exercise our Amnesty Waive on Boozer's contract which is plausible considering he's pretty much the only player on our roster eligible for it and he isn't playing $17M basketball. That being said his contract is over after next year and he has been a decent contributor during his time here. I personally am undecided whether or not I would personally amnesty Boozer but either way the FO goes I'm onboard. If they can get some guaranteed interest from a top FA (I'm thinking Melo here) then I see no reason not to amnesty Boozer. Additionally bring Murphy back and see if he can develop into a legit stretch 4.

Players not under contract:
Hinrich
DJ Augustin
Jimmer Fredette

First and foremost we need to bring Augustin back. It's easy to see that he's fully bought in to Thibs system and this team. He's been playing extraordinarily well and should be our #1 priority. He's proven he can run the show if Rose goes down again next year (fingers crossed) and should be valuable off the bench. With this in mind I'd like to see him signed for less than $4M a year for a couple of years (2-3). If DJ won't take a reasonable deal I'd definitely like to see Kirk back on the veteran's minimum. Jimmer hasn't played at all but I really think we need a shooter off the bench so seeing him back would be nice but not necessary.
