I was thinking about Tim Duncan this morning. Lets say hypothetically that Tim Duncan wins another championship at the age of 36. Here are his accolades:

4× NBA Champion (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007)
3× NBA Finals MVP (1999, 2003, 2005)
2× NBA Most Valuable Player (2002–2003)
NBA Rookie of the Year (1998)
13× NBA All-Star (1998, 2000–2011)
9× All-NBA First Team (1998–2005, 2007)
3× All-NBA Second Team (2006, 2008–2009)
All-NBA Third Team (2010)
8× All-Defensive First Team (1999–2003, 2005, 2007–2008)
5× All-Defensive Second Team (1998, 2004, 2006, 2009–2010)
NBA All-Rookie First Team (1998)
NBA All-Star Game MVP (2000)

He could retire today and the Spurs lose and he's still the #1 PF all time.

Best PF of all-time, best player of our generation (not Kobe or LeBron), most under-appreciated player of all time.

Being called the best PF sounds pretty appreciative to me.

He's been the best PF in NBA history for a while now.

If he is the best PF of all-time, then where all-time is he at with the greatest players?

(in no order)

Michael Jordan
Magic Johnson
Larry Bird
Wilt Chamberlain
Bill Russell
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Shaquille O'Neal
Hakeem Olajuwon
Oscar Robertson
Jerry West
Elgin Baylor

So I guess I have him 12 unless I'm missing somebody.

I personally would rank Malone at #1, with Duncan #2

Originally I voted top 5 PF, behind Karl Malone only. But I changed my mind, he is undoubtedly the best PF of all time. However saying the best player of our generation is a bit far, I think Kobe edges him out for that. As well as Shaq.

I'm not sure if I consider Shaq "in our generation" because he came into the league around the time you and I were born (I think you're my age). I look at it more as who came into the league/who was a rising star when we first started watching basketball. It's between Duncan and Kobe (idk if LeBron qualifies but he MIGHT). I give the edge to Duncan because I think Kobe is the better scorer but Tim Duncan has won more MVPs, more Finals MVPs, etc.
