The Spurs are sitting second in the conference at 39-15. They are also second in the conference in point differential at +6.4.

However, they are 3-14 this season combined against the Thunder, Heat, Blazers, Rockets, Pacers, and Clippers. So how does that effect their placement in the West? Do you still think they are the 2nd best team? Or do they drop a few spots.

They can't keep up the 2nd place pace IMO. Especially when they are shutting down parker for a bit.

I was watching last night, and even though they won against the Clippers, I don't see the Spurs as THAT strong of a team right now.

It'll be a lot tougher for them without Parker too, I just don't see them getting to where they were last season.

Even when healthy, they've struggled against the West's best teams. I'd put them at 4 right now behind OKC, Houston, and LAC. Last night's win against the Clippers was just a fluke.

I believe my dudes will get 2nd seed.

Playoff Spurs and reg ss Spurs are apples and oranges.

The struggle vs the top tier is concerning however.

I also fully expect the Grizzlies to make a surge at the 5 seed, if they get healthy, so I'm interested to see if either Portland or SA has a massive fall.

The Grizzlies need to worry about getting to the playoffs before they "surge for the 5 seed". They aren't a playoff team this year in all likelihood.

Memphis is playing too well to not get in. 16-4 in their last 20, I don't want to say Dallas, Golden State, or Phoenix will falter, but I think Memphis is playing well enough that they will find their way in.

memphis will find their way in. Idk what to think of the Spurs, I thought this would happen with them last year and instead last year they seemed unbeatable -- though I forget what their regular season record was vs those other elite teams. Idk if they're the second best team in the West, but definitely top 4.

I think Memphis is a good team but who are you going to take out? That's the hard part about the West man.

They could make it, but it's just as likely that they cool off and don't.

Phoenix, Dallas and Golden State could all drop out at any moment. It's going to be a fun race to see who gets the 8th seed.
