Sprained PCL or not, Tarvaris Jackson will be ready by week 1 and Tarvaris Jackson will have the better season. Not only does Tarvaris have the better weapons all around him but this is the Vikings division to lose. After watching him move the first team offense this pre-season, I feel that he has matured and has learned from his mistakes. You also have to take a lot of T-Jack's physical ability into play...and there's no doubt he is the best athlete of the trio. Anybody ever see Jackson take a broken play and make it into something spectacular with his feet? It's like watching vintage Michael Vick in a purple helmet.

I have never been sold on Aaron Rogers because he is a Pac-10 quarterback and he will forever live in Favre's shadow. Nobody has more pressure on him this season that Rogers and how he handles that pressure will make or break his season. People in Green Bay expect this team to win and he has all that on his shoulders. Essentially this guy is in his rookie season. I know he has watched enough of this game, at this level, to know what's going on...but taking th field and executing is a different story.

In Orton...I see nothing spectacular. Lovie Smith finally woke the hell up and gave the guy the ball that gives them the best chance to win. Orton doesn't give the best chance to win because of his ability, but he gives the Bears the best chance to win because he is more conservative and limits his mistakes. Still...I wouldn't count on Orton to put up memorable stats in 2008, as the Bears fight the Lions in 'cellar battle' of the NFC North.

I'll go with Jackson only because I think he can build off on the positives he had last year.

Jackson, due to a better supporting cast. Even though Green Bay has better wide-outs.

Im going with Rodgers. He has the better receivers and still has a really good back to take pressure off of him. He has looked good in the pre-season and I think he is going to shock people.

I'll take Rogers here. When I saw Jackson play last season he was awful, not even close to being good. Rogers was at one point projected to be the #1 overall pick in his draft. He was a first round pick, he is finally getting his chance, I think he can perform well above average, and that's more then I can say about Jackson or Orton. Also Rogers has Greg Jennings, Donald Driver and Donald Lee. A very good core of players to throw too.

How did Aaron Rogers play last season? Or the season before that?

Guys, stop making Jennings and Driver sound like John Taylor and Jerry Rice.

I didn't say Rogers played last year, he never got his chance, he finally will.

The fact is Rogers has a better receiving core to throw to then Jackson and Orton, which is one reason why I think he'll do better. Plus the Packer running game is not bad so there wont be so many people dropped back into coverage. People had 7-8 guys in the box against the Vikings and Jackson still couldn't do anything.

Here is what I think.
The fact that the Vikings have AP, will really open the passing lanes for the team. And now that they have a pretty legit receiver in Berrian, they will make Jackson look like a good QB. I don't think Jackson's numbers will be as good as Rodgers, but I think his teams success will make up for it.

Though it won't matter cause Detroit is going to win the division :]

+1
Jackson was phenomenal mid-2007 as the Vikings made their playoff push. He limited his mistakes, he made accurate throws, and made something out of nothing with his legs.

He then fell apart the last 3 games of the season as he began throwing off his backfoot under pressure and trying to force plays. Rookie mistakes...but all in all, he improved. If you saw him move the first team offense in the Vikings' pre-season games, you saw even more maturity from the guy. T-Jack seems very poised and confident to me heading into this season.

The addition of Berrian should really help open up this passing game and Sidney Rice showed flashes of how dynamic he can be last season. Also, let us not forgot how dangerous A-Pete is catching balls out of the backfield.
Though it won't matter cause Detroit is going to win the division :]

Last time I checked Peterson is much better than Grant.
And I never said that.

No, Grants 8 catches last year doesn't make me think for one second that he has really anything to do with opening up passing lanes.

Yeah, he is much better. But Grant is good enough that the defense has to look run 1st which isnt much different with AP in Minny.

EDIT: Nvm, just saw you said he wont have as good of numbers.

Lol, I think the defense against the Vikings is thinking run first MUCH more than the defense against the Packers. Just saying lol.

We have at least seen what Tarvaris is capable of, judging by how good he was during a part of the 2007 season.

That's more than any of us can say about Rodgers.

The fact is, both Jackson and Rodgers have a great supporting caste around them, and I think they might even equal out. So it all came down to who I thought would be the better overall quarterback, and I picked Rodgers. The only way I see Jackson having a better season THIS year, might be because Rodgers won't be used to playing as a starter again and will take a few games to get his feet wet. Other than that, I think Rodgers should deff have a better year than Jackson.

And no, I'm not even giving Orton a chance here.

As long as Rodgers doesn't get injured like he does mostly every year, I think he'll have the better season.
