Word on the street says Golden State Warriors coach Don Nelson has been seen at Chris Webber's Natomas restaurant, Center Court with C-Webb, twice recently. That only could mean Webber and Nelson are considering the completion of the ultimate full circle and a Webber return to Golden State.

They beefed big-time 14 years ago while both were with the Warriors, but perhaps it is true that time heals all wounds, even gashes.

Stay tuned. With agent Aaron Goodwin representing Gary Payton as well as Webber, could the former Skyline High School (Oakland) guard be far behind? Baron Davis, one of the league's best point guards, needs rest, and Payton surely could fill that backup role.

When did Webber play for Golden State?

I hope this isnt true, cuz the Kings still have time to make a push for the 8th spot...

It was like his second team I belive.
Either Gary or Chris would make them even better...They are already a good team but this would only help them.

Webber and Gary can't play a fast style of ball anymore but still.
I'd say they sign Gary though. But they got space for both so who knows.

I would take either, although I doubt Webber can last with our style of play. He is one of the softest big man I have seen.

As for Payton, rumor is that when C.J. Watson's 10-day contract expires, Payton is coming in. I think he still has some left in the tank and can be a DECENT backup to Baron.

He didn't play 3 games, he played one full season at golden state.

Chris Webber was selected by the Orlando Magic with the first pick of the 1993 NBA Draft. The Magic immediately traded him to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Anfernee Hardaway and three future first round draft picks.

Webber had an outstanding first year, averaging 17.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and winning the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. However, he had a long-standing conflict with his coach, Don Nelson. Nelson wanted to make Webber primarily a post player, despite Webber's superb passing ability and good ball handling skills for someone his size at 6'10. Webber also disliked playing a substantial amount of time at center, given Nelson's propensity towards smaller, faster line ups. In the 1994 off-season, the Warriors acquired Rony Seikaly so that Webber could play primarily at power forward, however the differences between Webber and Nelson were irreconcilable. Webber exercised a one-year escape clause in his contract, stating he had no intentions of returning to the Warriors. With little alternatives, Golden State agreed to a sign and trade deal, sending Chris Webber to the Washington Bullets (now the Wizards) for forward Tom Gugliotta and three first round draft picks.

We don't have cap room or roster space. I have no idea why Troy Hudson isn't cut... He's signed to a one year minimum and hes out this whole year. The few games he played was <Censored>ty. Just cut the damn guy. <_<

I also hope we ship out Train Wreck aka Mickael Pietrus...

Ya I highly doubt that we make a move this season. It will probably be during off season.

Hes coming to Golden State... Don Nelson drove 2 hours just to see and talk to Webber. On TNT, Cheryl Miller said she talked to Mullin and he said he wants to bring in Payton or Webber and that they like Webber a lot.

I don't know what to say. I'd like either I guess, I'm not sure how either will do though.

Webber won't be able to run the floor very well, heck Payton probably wouldn't either, but Webber is a good passing big man and can get the ball to guys for a easy bucket.

I think what the Warriors need more than Payton or Webber is a banger down low. Someone like an Eddy Curry except can play D. He doesn't need to be fast, doesn't have to start... They just need a big body down low that can provide some toughness and inside scoring.

Eddy Curry is available if you want him =)

LOL. POB for Curry?

Curry can't run with us and will probably get a stroke after the 1st quarter.

Heres an article on Webber:

(01-24) 21:05 PST Oakland -- Webber a Warrior? The acrimonious relationship between coach Don Nelson and ex-Warrior Chris Webber has been patched up enough for Golden State to contemplate reuniting the pair, a league source confirmed.

"If it works, it's only because of Nellie and Chris talking," the source said. "That's the key, but that's been quite a few years (in the making) and a lot of growing."

I don't know how I'd feel if we sign them. Maybe we can bring Webber off the bench when Baron is resting and we slow things down... IDK

Every other Warrior fan I've seen though, says no to both Payton and Webber. I'm the only one who wouldn't mind I think.
