Why do you hire a guy with NO coaching experience?

Love this hire! He's got a great point guard mentality and with Stephen Curry running that team (once they trade Monta Ellis), and that team improves automatically. Jackson will run a set offense, so there won't be any of this run around and jack up shots offense anymore. Sorry to Keith Smart, but he just didn't know how to run his team. I fully expect the addition of Mark Jackson to help turn this Warriors team around right away. Great hire.

I actually like this hire. I like Mark Jackson and he has a good opportunity with this young team.

Apparently they're trying to hire Mike Malone as his lead assistant by offering more money then the Lakers will.

They should have just hired Mike Malone as the actual head coach in my opinion..

I think this is about the best situation Mark Jackson could ask for. The Warriors are a team on the upside; they have good talent, appear to be making an effort to sign veteran personnel ala Jerry West, and play in an increasingly weakening Western Conference. This is about as good of an opportunity as he will get to succeed as a coach.

i just dont know if i can like this
he has NO experience at all. he's been on the sidelines for years now, and i guess that gives him some great perspective, but still. not even an assistant job

i'd rather have Sam Cassell

i cant say i like the hire though simply because i have absolutely no idea how he'll coach.
the mike malone hire(if they get him) will be a great one. and i guess thats how they'll help him along. good assistants

but i just think a team like GSW with all their struggles should have gone after experience
actually, they should have kept Keith Smart but too late

good luck to him. and again, so glad he's off ESPN. his lobbying, kissing everyone's ass and calling out players hardcore was getting damn annoying

This is where I realized how much of a dumbass Mark Jackson is as an announcer.

Lol if I ever played him one on one I'd sack tap him and tell him it's not a foul.

I can't believe Malone left this job in New Orleans (and the job in LA) to go take on the same position with a team that he talked to about the Head Coaching vacancy. That just seems like a shot in the marbles to me.

THE BEST IN THE WORLD DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST.
MAMA THERE GOES THAT MAN.
HAND DOWN MAN DOWN.

I think he'll be a good coach. Good hire. Biggest winner = Stephen Curry

He was going to leave to have the same position with the Lakers since he is good friends with Mike Brown, but the Warriors offered him a lot more money then both the Lakers and Hornets. It's only a matter of time till he gets a Head coaching job.
