The Mercury News believes that both the Warriors and Stephen Curry have "strong interests" in agreeing on a contract extension.
The report is careful to state that "nothing is likely to happen until late-October," but it's interesting to hear that Golden State may be more amendable to working out an extension than some had previously believed. Before 2011-2012's ankle problems, Curry had missed just 10 games over his first two seasons. The Mercury News also writes that Curry is "not taking a discount deal," and we feel similarly. Curry carries career averages of 17.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.7 steals, and 2.1 treys on 47.3 percent shooting.
