The Minnesota Vikings have the No. 12 pick in the first round of this week's NFL draft. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that the Vikes may be looking to trade down to gather more picks for later in the draft since the team currently only has three picks in the draft's first four rounds.
From the Pioneer Press: "At least three times during this year's draft process, Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman has referenced the possibility of trading."
The team lost a third-round pick in its unfortunate trade for Randy Moss(notes) last season.
"When you look at the draft, or you look at the potential of moving out of the No. 12 pick and accumulating more picks, I think it's a good draft, a really deep draft," Spielman said, according to the paper. "There are some positions in this draft that are extremely intriguing, to say the least."
The Pioneer Press points out that the team traded its first-round pick and two third-rounders back in 2008 to the Kansas City Chiefs for defensive end Jared Allen.
