Vikings Give Fans Good News, Place Cassel on IR

Curtis Lofton couldn't help but smile as he returned to the Saints facility on Wednesday morning. "You'd think Vikings fans would be mad that we beat them," he said, when asked about the fan mail he'd been receiving from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, "but they've been sending thank you cards and gift packages." Lofton wasn't keen to discuss the nature of the fan mail, but we're certain that Vikings fans are showing gratitude to Lofton for injuring never-should-have-been starting quarterback Matt Cassel. Lofton all but confirmed our suspicions when he said, "You should have heard what they asked me to do to Ponder, if he ever sees the field against us." At the end of the day, Lofton is glad to have the support of fans around the league. "It's great to know people can look past the jerseys." When asked what kinds of gifts he'd been receiving, Lofton said, "lots of homemade dishes that appear to be mostly mayonnaise."
