In an interview on Monday, Vikings' owner Zygi Wilf said, "Division champions is a milestone that we'll work on and build on," according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Asked if head coach Brad Childress, who led the team to a 10-6 mark in his third season in the position, will return next season, Wilf said "yes" three times quickly in succession.

With the man at the top in a safe position, that leaves a group of 12 Viking players who are set to become unrestricted agents in late February. The list includes center Matt Birk, safety Darren Sharper, tight end Jim Kleinsasser and middle linebacker Napoleon Harris.

Birk, who has spent all 11 of his NFL seasons in the purple and gold, told the Star Tribune, "I'm definitely going to weigh my options, and ultimately it's going to come down to what's the best situation for my family." Sharper seemed interested in a return, however he's realistic about the prospects of change. "I would like to still be here and have the same locker come the offseason, but you never know how things are going to go."
