The Vikings are reportedly interested in getting QB Tarvaris Jackson involved in Mixed Martial Arts this offseason to improve his hip work.
FoxSports' Jay Glazer, a noted MMA fan, believes the program shows that the Vikings are planning long-term Jackson. Even if MMA does improve his hip work, it's not going to do anything for his accuracy or ability to read a defense.

Why would you wish something like that?

And the article is talking about training MMA, not actually fighting in the octagon. I had a feeling some of you boneheads were going to start thinking that.

The point of the article is that training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu improves your flexibility and mobility. I was the most un-flexible mo-fo in the world, until I started studying BJJ.

That crazy because if he hurt himself in any it violates his contract. If its not football relatedis a violation. Just like when big Ben wrecked his motorcycle. He could of last everything. Instead of training with MMA, just exericise yourself at home. That how you become more flexible and mobile. You dont need any special training.

Not if the Vikings' Coaching Staff is what got him into it. Tarvaris wouldn't likely get hurt doing it anyways. I don't think you understand that training MMA doesn't require putting on 4 ounce gloves, closing the cage door, and beating the snot out of one another.

Tarvaris could get into training BJJ as a beginner and not have to worry about anything other than being sore after the first week.
