SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Wide receiver Isaac Bruce is postponing retirement for another season with the San Francisco 49ers.
Bruce, the second-leading receiver in NFL history with 14,944 yards, informed 49ers coach Mike Singletary on Wednesday of his decision to return for his 16th NFL season.
Bruce missed the 49ers' minicamp last month while contemplating retirement, but his return is a major boost to a San Francisco offense that would have lacked a top receiver. Bruce led the 49ers with 61 catches for 835 yards and seven touchdowns last season, his first with the team after 14 seasons with the Rams.
Bruce hit two major milestones during a late-season victory over St. Louis, passing Tim Brown for the second-most receiving yards in NFL history and becoming the fifth player to catch 1,000 passes.
This was a good thing for the 49ers. Bruce was their leading producer last year. now if they can pick up Torry Holt, then they might be able to reincarnate the greatest show on turf with Gore filling in for Faulk, and Hill or smith filling in for Warner. Itd be called the greatest show outdoors.
Lol maybe
